Is it allowed to change a team that has already competed at multiple events to a Prep team? I thought this was not allowed but have seen people do it a few times this year?

I am pretty sure that the only rule is that the same athlete cannot compete on a prep team and an all star team at the same competition. I don't think there is a rule governing whether athletes or even whole teams can change from prep to all star and vice versa from competition to competition. We have a local gym with teams that go from prep to all star and back depending on the competition and who is likely to be there.

We were once at a comp where the gym usually competed in a competitive level division and they decided to enter all their teams as a Prep or non-compete Level 1 (I can't remember which one). All I know is once the music started they were whipping out layouts and fulls and all of us watching were scratching our heads trying to figure out what the heck was going on! On the schedule and in their intro they were introduced as a Level 1 but the mat was saying something else. Now that I think of it, I think they just dropped all their teams to level 1 and entered non-compete. Sorry to totally throw off the thread.

Yes, it's allowed. I think it would be difficult to do, though, given that a prep team's routine is 30 seconds shorter than a "regular" all star team.

Is it possible that they have 2 different tiny teams? I noticed that the team names were different.

Not sure exactly how they did it. I love watching these girls. They are tiny but can do incredible stunts. Maybe they just edit the routine. They are not at every comp we attend
