So, I realize a lot of parents out there will Thank Im crazy because you all are mid season of traveling, extra practices and absolute craziness, but I miss my CP cheering Allstar. She just turned 17 and decided to only do high school cheer this year. No competitions, no big hair and curls, no glitter and bedazzlement, Just friday night football, snd basketball games. ^yawn^. I come on here and read everyones posts and I did video stream Cheersport and NCA. That made me miss it so much more. I live in florida and went to Worlds with a good friend last year, her daughters team won, which really made it exciting. But I really enjoyed watching all the teams, cheerleberities and all. Its was challenging not being able to get up for fear of losing my seat, but I made it through both days. My CP doesnt like to watch cheer like I do, is it weird that I love the sport maybe more than her, ugghhh I feel dumb asking but is it weird if I go to competitions to watch without having a child perform?? Before CP started 8 year ago I had no idea about any of the cheer world, but I fell in love with it and truly miss it all.

It's not weird if you go to competitions without her but please don't force her to do allstars if she doesn't want to.
Don't live your dreams through your kid like some of Toddlers and tiaras parents do.

I believe @Mamarazzi made the journey to NCA without her daughter competing. I don't think it's odd at all. After putting so much time into a sport, it's natural for parents to become attached as well.

Oh no, thats something I wont do, not cheering this year was her Idea and I totally respected her decision. I wont never force her, nor should any parent.

This is true, but there's more to it than me going just to watch - story for another time, maybe.
@ParadiseMom , I don't see anything wrong with enjoying a sport, even ones that our kids don't play. Many millions of people go to, or watch, football or basketball games, but their kids don't play these sports. At least a couple members of the USASF Parent Action Committee's kids haven't cheered all star for a while now, but they're still more than a little involved. Just because your cp stops doesn't mean you can't still watch and enjoy.
I would draw the line at building a comp season fan schedule, though.

love it!!! Your so right, Thank You. Now I feel a little silly for even asking.

Eh... I still keep up with everything even though my younger sister graduated and is in college now....but honestly I think I only still keep up with it because I get bored at work....

I do have a niece in all star but I sometimes forget about that because I moved to a different city and I rarely make it to her competitions and that makes me sad.

But I will get to see her at Jamfest in Gatlinburg in a few weeks.

There is definitely a faction who believe that once your cp is done, you should be as well. They would totally label you Suzie's Mom and roll their eyes at you even considering attending a comp now.
Those people suck.
Do you boo.

Not as funny, or sensible, as I thought so deleted.

I plan on attending some, they can call me whatever, Think of me as a cheer parent for every team. Lol just without a CP begging me for money during the competitions

Maybe they'll compete next season?

he just meant that he posted a comment and then realized it wasn't funny or sensible so he deleted it. You can't delete the post entirely, you can only edit so he wanted to clarify why his post was there
Thank you, Im still a newbie :)

I miss Allstar cheering since my CP graduated. Although I didn't go to Dallas, I sure purchased the 2 day pass to watch the Arena live and loved every minute of it. Stress free and truly enjoyed the athleticism - routine after routine.
