Do the rules allow an athlete to cheer for & represent 2 different all star gyms? What are the rules/guidelines for this?
Thanks

One could, just not at the same competition. And there would likely be issues with the release for Worlds if this happened,

Thanks, it is not for me. I have a hard enough time juggling my 2 girls at one gym. We recently left a small gym to go to a large gym. One of the parents from our old gym said it would be fun to do both gyms (add a team at our new gym to the team they already do at our old gym). It made me wonder if that was even allowed.

While USASF may not have a rule, most cheer gyms have a rule that their athletes can not cheer at another gym. Some even include any sort of tumbling, unless it is required by their school team.

There's an exception though. If your gym does not have a level 6 and you want to be on a 1-5 you can go and compete with a gym on a level 6

excuse my possible ignorance on the topic, but how is that an exception? you either go to the gym with the level 6 or go to the gym with 1-5.

We've had several athletes join our upper level teams since their gym didn't offer that level. There has to be good communication between the gyms so that they don't schedule the same competitions. I think this is a great compromise for small gyms. Both benefit from the added monies and they don't lose the athlete to the higher level gyms.

so they pay tuition to both gyms?! this is nutty to me. on one hand i understand... but if you wanted to be on a higher level team why would you not just go to that gym altogether? especially if you're paying two gyms..

In all of the cases they didn't pay the full tuition/fees. In 2 situations, the athletes' parents owned the lower level gym and others were just loyal to their original gym and their "home" gym needed them.

makes more sense, thanks!
