All-Star Competitions At Disney World

Quick Question to anyone that has competed at Contest of Champions... they are forcing all of our families to buy the hotel package, but some of my families have like HUGE families and they all wont fit in that one small room at the Allstar Resort... so basically what they are telling us that in order to compete they have to purchase the package AND the room.... just wondering why that is? to the ppl that have been to this event, did you guys go through the same thing? bc some of my parents are pissed and dont even want to go now... Advice?

In the past our old program would shuffle around the rooms per say and kinda lower the cost for some rooms. Say I have 3 in my room and family #2 has 5, they would list 4ppl in their room and list the 5th person in mine even though they all stayed together. I got the 4ppl per room rate for my 3 and the family just paid for their room (4) plus the rate it broke down for the #5 in my room.... Better than them paying for a second room for 1 or 2.
