You're so sweet. Thank you Friend! They have plenty I promise. And they'll have even more next week.....and they are an age that getting packages every day with their names on it is cool so...... Spoiled little buggers!

We grew up Episcopalian, and when I was a little girl, when there were not many gifts under the tree for us, mom told us that the Wise Men had not yet come to offer their gifts to the baby Jesus. Since Episcopalians observe the arrival of the Magi, we believed her! It wasn't until later I understood that they just couldn't afford to buy everything all at once - there were six of us. We even had the figurines under the tree with the Wise Men way off from the manger scene, and everyday, I think my mom moved them a little closer. We would be so excited to watch them get closer and closer to the baby Jesus, knowing that we might get more presents just like He did! January 6th is 3Kings day! Better know as the Epiphany.

I still do this with the girls. They look forward to their "Wisemen" gifts! Some of the traditions are lost, (they're grownups now) but this and a few remain.

Another Mom Confession. I confess that I went out of town to Vegas and didn't buy 1 present before I left. (Didn't order any either) Got home.......slept........Woke up Tuesday morning and went........."OMG MY CHILDREN WON"T HAVE ANY PRESENTS" I have been mad shopping this week and online shopping. Some of which won't be here until around Jan 1st. At least their joy will last for more than 1 day when the packages keep coming and coming and coming. Bad Mom award right here. LMAO

Bad Daughter/Sibling Award: I'm buying all my gifts today, but that's only because I can't buy them tomorrow (Xmas Eve) as I'm working lunch and then have to bust it out to Grand Central to hop a train home. Oh what a terrible little one I am :oops:

This is one of the things I miss most about having a little one in the house. That sense of wonder about things like this.
Even if you're not religious, if your kids know the Christmas Story, it's a great way to keep the spirit going past Dec 25th. Our tree stays up until Epiphany. Then, the girls got more presents to tear into. Seriously? It didn't matter what I got them. My kids thought I was the coolest mom ever!
I'm grateful to my family for giving me that old West Indian tradition.
