Ive seen posts on tumblr, facebook, instagram ect. can someone please explain to me if it is or isnt? I saw that Matt Smith posted something on twitter. I am soo confused so please someone explain what is happening or link something

The link everyone is posting is basically Cheerleading is a Sport... in Wisconsin... in 2009. The article was posted January __ 2009, and everyone thinks its recent. But Cheerleading will always be a sport in my mind <3
