I was actually gonna stay away from this one........ "I know I should, but I work with 2 ladies from ECN and 1 of them I try so hard to not talk cheerleading with her because she just joined them middle of last year. I have to keep reminding myself that she is a new cheer mom (nothing wrong with the ones who aren't Susies' mom) and I have to remind her that I been there and done that years ago with ECN and we moved on immediately!! Because she isn't here to defend herself I won't get into details but just seeing this stuff here is proof that I made the most important decision regarding my kids and getting something out of this sport by taking them elsewhere (New Jersey and the coaches, I and my kids thank you!!) The politics and drama here in DE is ridiculous and because I have to hear it all the time at work about how magnificent ECN's are I have a "keep it brief policy" and in the words of Forrest Gump "Thats all I have to say about dat!!"

Well said, in time people will see the light & make the decision that is right for them. Congratulations.

Good for you!

No, ma'am.
Oh, I thought you might have been referencing it, never mind. One of the people whose phone was hacked was a missing teenager (later found murdered) so there was public outrage about it. I think they also hacked the phones of victims of the 7/7 bombings

I think one of the best things coming from this discussion is that maybe someone will rethink and avoid all the drama, injury and shadiness that i was not so fortunate to have missed. When people start talking to each other and seeing what other gyms are like, it is a really wake up call. This is a great way to share experience and information. And maybe, just maybe why ECN tries to keep such a tight lid on facebook, twitter and tumbling at other gyms. They also know what people will find out if they start talking and looking around. Maybe they know the way they run that business is not the best but egos are getting in the way now.

I think you are exactly right! Most people that have been in that gym forever have never been anywhere else so the have no idea how the average cheer gym runs. Now that I'm at a new gym, I realize all the things my family went through the past four years could have been prevented granted I did my research and a forum like this existed then!

As meanj stated in another thread, the topic about this gym is "One that could get attackatory" which is why I try to stay clear!! Actually my kids saw this and I have to say that it was their wanting to move on, it was my agreeing to travel an hour and a half to Jersey for them to cheer. I'm glad my wife just reads these forums and is not on here because she would be banned on her first post!! She is the reason our kids tried that team in the first place and I choke her every day for that whole season of drama (not literally). She says it everyday she has to hear about my day and the "attackatory" discussion i tactfully avoided almost daily. We love to talk about every other gym around (CA, GA, CEA, SOT, TG, even other gyms like TSC, Vipers, KX athletics, Marlins and Twisters, CJA!! We live 15 mins from ECN and lets just say that they are not dinner talk!! Its a shame because the kids there have talent and most are good kids, thats what cheerleading is, I don't cheer, my kids do and its about them, i don't care about winning or if we have a #1 sister gym or any of that, I just want my kids to love getting ready for practice and competing and giving 101% and making friends on their team and other teams!! :)

I couldn't resist.

We paid them $225 for the month of June. That money was to pay for:
-GK Uniform
-2 practice uniforms
-makeup
-bow
-competition fees
-choreography
-nfinities
-music
-extra tumbling in the fall
-year end banquet
-tumbling instruction
-"organized and well run practices"
-mid season sleepover
-coaches

So I get that the instructors need their pay and what not, but does anyone think we'll see that money again? or at least part of it?

i wasnt going to say anything but honestly this has been taken way overboard. this is my 5th year at the gym, and i wouldnt want to go anywhere else. i love it there, and this is making it seem far worse than it is, its not bad at all. i wouldve left a long time ago if i thought there was too much drama or if i didnt like the coaches.

ok, so i planned to keep my trap shut. nevermind. here goes.

no offense, but perhaps you did not witness what Nitros was doing at the "west gym". we did. they sent out an email to the entire Nitronation, which meanj so meanjly posted in another thread, citing safety as a tumbling concern for athletes to not tumble elsewhere. however, and durning the time same time span of the email, they crammed everyone who tried out in the west gym onto ONE mat all on the same night each week for practice and they were not really divided into groups or teams. and it was not just a one time occurrence, this occurred over several weeks. no joke, my 140 lb senior main base threw the full she's been working on nearly landing on a 3-4 year old mini (i think that is the correct term for that age group). and no, before anyone asks, the child was not the original owner's child. and yes, the original owner was NOT ok with the pandemonium.

i wish i could say this was the only issue, but it was not. some issues could be classified as petty, others are most certainly not. i am thinking i would place my senior nearly crushing a toddler in the serious category.

I doubt you will see that money....but...is it just me or is that a dang lot of stuff for 225???

They charge 225 a month & that full list is what it's included in the entire seasons package for 225 a month.
