Try checking at rec centers, YMCA's, even day cares to see if you can start there as a share program. Some of these may have mats already around which can help a little. The park is definitely a good idea and L5cheeermom's advice is spot on This may be a way to get started at minimal expense.
I think if I can't use the park I'll use my houseThat would certainly depend on where you are. Many of the biggest gyms around started that way or by renting a corner in a gymnastics gym. I've heard that CSP started CEA in her front yard. I've often wondered if it could happen that way today. I read an article recently about communities charging fees for for-profit businesses to use public parks. The article was specifically about those boot camp type workouts but I'm sure a cheerleading business would be similar. I would also think that the current market in your city would impact the success of something like that. If you are surrounded by flashy, popular gyms it might be a more difficult proposal. If there are few other options then I would think the potential success would be greater.
