So let's say you've got the little Susie in your gym who thinks she's better than everyone else. Whether it's dance formations or bows, she loves to make a huge deal out of everything. But one day, you overhear her completely bashing your choreography, the coach, as well as the athletes. She also says she deserves to be put on a better team and completely disses the whole team.

How would you parents/coaches/cheerleaders respond to this?

Actually had someone on the team do this. We (athletes) told our coach who brought it up and didn't say her name. She pretty much made it clear that she had authority over all of us and that no one was better than the other. She also stated that if the behavior continued from any of us (her) then we would be kicked off the team. It pretty much ended. Of course she still felt how she felt but she kept it to herself. So just tell your coach and most likely the coach has already picked up on her behavior.

Actually, I quite think the coaches are scared of her.

Im curious to know how everyone will respond to this
HE was a not being a drama queen . . . since he's a straight HE . . . but i would call him Mr Divo instead. .
We had him once. . . and he basically told me in my face that He's better off without the team . . . and left . . .

If the coaches are scared of her then she does not need to be on the team, the moment a coach loses control of their team its done for. She is bringing a bad vibe to the group, she should be gone.

This one complains about EVERYTHING.
She dissed the shoes (which were Kaepas because they were our shoes for sideline) and got told to go buy her own shoes if she didn't like it. Then she threw a tantrum and made all this drama over a pair of cheer shoes.

I think they think she is harsh and a little too demanding.
She could say "Hey, you weren't supposed to pop up on 6", instead she says "Goddd (insert name here), you arent supposed to pop up on 6...ugh, that was horrible!"

I mean, she does bring bad vibes to the group.
Everyone is annoyed and scared by her because she's always moody.
However, knowing our squad, she has good tumbling so she'll make competition and sideline.

If that's the case then they aren't good coaches. An adult shouldn't be afraid of a child. If you think that then go straight to the owner of the gym. Maybe you need to switch gyms if the problem isn't resolved.
Its not a gym exactly, we have Varsity girls who were helping out and they looked a little flustered when they saw her. However, at competition practice for our school, our choreographer gets angry when she turns around and talks to other people (mainly about how easy our routines are).
Whether its an allstar or school squad, share your stories and advice.

Mine was for my school and after awhile we called her out, but then our coach did hehe. It's definitely crazy when they get all defensive and stuff but if they want to leave they can. If the girl leaves you just have to think that it's better for everyone. If she stays, a lot of us ignored her and no one payed attention to her thoughts and ideas. It all works out in the end.

Ugh I would do that, only except most people think she's experienced and so they listen to her. However, we all think she can be harsh.

if the coaches are scared of her, you need to go to the owner...there is no way that a team will be successful if a teenager is running things...one bad mood brings the ENTIRE team down. if the team wants to have a great next season someone needs to speak to her...tell girlfriend she is a team member, not a coach, and it will ultimately be the coaches final decision always, if there are still problems come up with repercussions ...period :) good luck!

I will get up the courage to do that haha.

Kids like that will never be happy no matter if they get their way or not. You give them their way once and they will just keep whining for more. You don't give them their way and they'll throw a temper tantrum, bad mouthing everything associated with the team, coaches, etc. Ultimately, the team and the coaches have to be blunt with her without being mean or snotty back to her. Pretty much the unanimous response to her complaints has to be "Well this is the way it is. If you don't like it, there's the door". Plain and simple.
For example: If anything similar to the shoe situation comes up, the coaches need to straight up tell her TOO BAD. Everyone else on the team wears them, that's what the coaches have chosen for the team, and if she doesn't like it then leave! Or next time she complains about needing to be on a better team ask her if she's too good for this team then why is she here? She can always quit and go to another gym that fits her needs, or (if its school cheer which it sounds like it is) she can join an allstar team rather than cheer for school. Doesn't matter if she has great skills or not...... she's not doing anything for your team. A cheer family needs to support one another, not discourage each other.
