pretty interesting to feel my first earthquake.

Saw on some people's statuses from VA that there wasn't any damage.

Anyone hear anything else?

I live in VA about 69 miles from the center point and I was in my house and at first I thought it was a truck or construction and then for a quick second I thought it was a terrorist attack(cause I live in the DC metro area about 22miles from dc) but it kept shaking and I realized it was a earthquake. It was a 5.9. Now they report that theres may be damage done to the national cathedral.

Im in Northern Maryland and my whole office building shook for what was probably a few seconds but felt like a long time... So scary...... no damage as far as I can tell though...

It was felt as far as Michigan and Rhode Island. CNN has been updating things.

Very scary here in western MD...House shook, everything rattled. Me and my daughter looked at each other and we where like no way..."was that a earthquake"!!! It lasted at least 15 seconds too...

We felt it in SC. I work in a library. One of my coworkers accused me of shaking since im a jittery person (a whole row of dvds were rattling then shaking). I moved away from them and it got worse...then we all check the computer lab and upstairs of the library and every student said they felt it to. So the campus evacuated buildings for like 10 mins

Usually by the time you realize its an earthquake its almost over...

Well a least my tropes and medals didn't fall and break I'm okay!!!!! but where I live we felt it the strongest, it lasted about 30-45 seconds.

Aaaah! Working where I work I immediately thought we were being attacked again and it was definitely scary. I've never experienced an earthquake until today! Cali folks.....I don't see how you can do it on a regular basis! No damages or injuries reports (that I know of).
