I'm trying to transition from backing to basing, but I need to build a lot more strength. What type of weights/exercises do you recommend?
 
Squats and lunges to build up your quads, you want to lift with your legs. You can do squats lots of ways regular squats, jump squats, wall squats. Lunges you can do standing in one place or walking. Also upper body strength with push ups and planks.
