I think its good we have a favorite/best moments thread! We have that "worst competition moments" one, but i like talking about the good ones too!!
My favorite part of cheer is definitely stunting, but only main basing. I dislike doing any other spot! I also like meeting people! I have so many friends from cheer, and i move gyms pretty much every year (which i hate) so i get to know a lot of great people!!
My favorite memory was last season, we were at UCA Nationals in Orlando, and this was my first real big comp, so I was so so excited. My gym had a pretty rough day one. All the teams had some mistakes. But then my team went on at Indiana Jones Theater, and it was like 9pm, so there was NO ONE THERE, besides our coaches, family and friends and just a few other people. I actually really liked how no one was there, because i could hear my coach yell a correction at me (because my flyer fell in warm-ups, and she wanted me to make it hit). Anyway, we went out there and everything hit PERFECTLY. We were legit screaming the entire routine. After our pyramid hit all i could remember is i was just screaming. Who knows what i was even saying:p Best moment ever. My coaches were literally hugging anyone they could grab. We were all crying so so hard, and I mean we hit before at competitions, but this was incredibly perfect. We all got back to our hotels and i stayed up late and waited for the day 1 results. Second place. We have never been in second all season.
Day two. We had some corrections and improvements to make: higher jumps, better back handsprings. We went out there (it was really really late) and I almost cried running out there: The crowd section was HUGE. Everyone from the gym was there. I still remember running out there and all of the level 5's were screaming for us and it made us feel so good. We hit again! Our coaches were crying, and we were crying and it was the best moment in my life. We ended up getting second, but that silver medal will still be better than all of my 1st place ones. That silver medal was earned with hard, hard work. I'm happy we got second. Yeah, i was upset, it was our first loss of the season. The winning team's coach told our's that it was the first time that team had won all season. I mean if anyone had to win besides us, I was glad it was them.
