How do you guys handle loss? Especially it being your last year and you dont make it. how do you handle this situation cuz im havin a realllllly tough time right now.

I try and not see it as winning or losing but as leaving your heart on the floor and giving your all. Because as long as you give your best and know that you left everything on the floor then that is far more important than winning or losing. Yes the whole point of competing is to win but I have learned much more important things throughout the season. Things that are way bigger/better than any trophy could ever be.

You have to think about the experiences that got you there. As long as you gave your all and had a blast, theres nothing else you could have done. Winning isn't everything. If you form friendships and had fun, then all your hard work was worth it(:

its just so hard to put sooooo much work and time into something then fall short. and im a senior so i wont be able to have that experience again. :,(

Just have fun(: Like last year we had a really hard year (one girl got kicked off our team for drugs right before nationals) and even though we didnt move on to semi finals we still had so much fun. And we had a rough year because before the girl got kicked off she always managed to some how ruin it for us (not showing to practice and then falling ect..) but we always managed to have fun afterwards at awards or just having fun during the routine.

I know I know :( But you have to think, would winning have made you any better of a person? Would it help you in the future in your life? No. But the hardwork and dedication you had is going to follow you through life. Think about how many life lessons you learned and different people you met. Don't think about it was "Losing" but ending on a good note with a good performance. Thats all that matters(:

one of the greatest lessons I ever learned was when I was cut from a team. it gave me the determination and strength to set new goals that I would have never otherwise had. it also taught me to not believe others when they try to knock you down....and that no one has the power to take away your drive to suceed/grow. that lesson has stayed with me for 15 years after the experience...far longer than any "win" would has stayed with me. I am actually really grateful for it because it has made up a huge part of who I am today.

For me it depends on how well we did. If we hit everything and was just tough competition then I'm usually not as upset as I would be if we just bombed and basically gave the team 1st. I mean, whoever says that they don't care if they lose or don't get upset at least a little bit then you're weird. But you shouldn't be so hard on yourself and just have fun. I think losing should motivate you more than upset you though.

Know exactly how you're feeling. Even though my season is going pretty well so far, I know I'm going to be a MESS at competitions knowing every competition is kind of like a last shot ):

It's a good way to look at cheerleading, and handling wins and losses.

For me, learning how to lose gracefully is as important as learning how to win gracefully. Every win makes you stronger, but every loss makes you better. It's difficult, but you need to take the loss and turn it in to something that you can make work for you.
