So Susie just got her running double and standing full but the current gym she is at doesn't offer youth 5 or Jr 5 and she to young for senior 5 . Luckily Susie happens to be 30 minutes away from a gym that offers youth 5 and Jr 5 should Susie stay at her current gym where she will be forced to stay on a lower level or should she go to the other gym that offers youth 5.

In my opinion if the team she has the skills for is only 30 minutes away I would probably go, but there are other things to consider. How long as she been in her current gym? Will she be upset leaving the coaches and her cheer friends. Will there be a team for her in a year? Personally I have a lot of loyalty to our gym and would feel conflicted leaving, but we dont have another gym with such great teams in the area.

Also consider if her stunting skills are ready for level 5. If she is on a level 3 team at her current gym and is not ready to move up, keep her on that team.
If you do stay at the current gym, consider doing individuals where she is able to showcase her tumbling skills!

Take her to the other gym! I hate when talent is put to waste, and if the other gym has a team that offers level 5 to such young age groups, then the coaches are obviously doing something right, and it will help to push Susie to the next level. Its 30 minutes away, not that bad. And I think it will make her happier to compete at her full potential. (:

Have you done any coreography? If you have, I'd stay where you are. Thats not really fair to the rest of the team.

She has been at her other gym for 3 years now and she was on another team 4 years before and had no problem leaving her old gym. although she does have a very strong bond with lots of the girls on the team

What level is she on now and how hold is she? Will she be old enough for a level 5 next season at her current gym? Just because she "just got" a tumble skill doesn't mean she has mastered it enough for the routine or has the other skills required.

We have not started choreography yet.

p.s : susie is not me its my friend

i agree. tumbling isnt everything. does she have everything else level 5?? if not individuals are a GREAT way to showcase all her skills..its all eyes on her..........then again if suzie can stunt and do hard level 5 dances, thats another story......loyalty is a large factor as well. that gym DID teach her that tumbling, and depending on how long suzie was apart of the gym, leaving can be hurtful to the others in the gym....whatever you choose just go with your heart. best of luck

The gym she is at now did not teach her that tumbling she was taking privates at a different gym . Susie is not me so i don't know how she she feels about leaving the gym. she was thinking about doing individuals but that cost a little extra money. I will suggest it to her. you are correct she does have to go from level 3/4 to level 5 baskets, stunts, dancing and tumbling

***I am not susie

hmmmm. well i would talk to suzie and see how she feels, if shes willing to leave then i say go for it

But if she stays she may never learn the higher level stunting because the team may not move up a level.

Personally, I would stick it out and you never know what can happen once summer practices are over, your current team could progress a level up. Also be mindful that there's more to level 5 than just tumbling, there's stunting, choreography, jumps sequences, etc. A standing full is GREAT, don't get me wrong, but it is just one small aspect on the level 5 score sheet. If "Susie" is absolutely certain that level 5 is where she needs to be, then perhaps her current gym isn't the right place for her ;) . Also, talking to your coaches could also aid in making your decision. Maybe they will reevaluate your skill set. I'm sure they will give you their honest opinion, afterall, we LOVE to see kids progress, no matter where they cheer.

Good Luck.
