But then there's the global divisions that contradicts all of that. With how much those divisions have grown in just one season, we could definitely see all star revert back to including the crowd leading aspect.

Reminded me of something. My kiddo's first year or two in all star, her teams did a cheer, required to, and she did it in individuals as well. Last year on her non tumble team, the team did a cheer, brought back the old CA cheer. Ironic that she started and ended all star with a cheer. ;)

I mean, there’s nothing inherently wrong with the jog. But I just remember we tried it in HS and then scrapped it for looking too outdated... and that was YEARS ago. So in my head, it’s been a retired technique for awhile. But whatever works for them. It’s just jarring to me.

“tight arms” are ridiculous too.
Cheer teams should not look so damn militaristic. They should be engaging the crowd from opening “ding ding” to final “boom.” Make the routine fun, draw attention to yourself, and look like a confident athlete. Your team’s score will increase as you teach them to do that better.

At least for Cactus Cup, I know there's no cameraman there and it's just held in a tiny little high school here in AZ. Can't speak to other smaller UCA comps, but I know that one in particular doesn't get filmed.

Yes, I saw them in the UCA lineup but I think I also saw them at USA regionals. Unless that’s another SL Buchanan from CA, but I think that’s unlikely. So if they’re headed for USA, there’s going to be an upset. I’m sure of it.
