Would you be shocked to find your youth 1 athlete performing at 10 pm with awards at 11 pm? Apparently American Cheer Power thinks its ok because USASF has a limit of 11pm for teams to wrap up??

I would be furious! There should be a time limit to go with all the age limits. Moat children who are youth age have been in bed and asleep for several hours by the time THAT performance time rolled around. Truthfully NOBODY should have to perform that late in the evening.

Youth 1, my tiny team preformed at 8:30 pm and awards at 9. Lets just say everyone was piss.

it's ridiculous! How can these kids be expected to perform at all, let alone SAFELY hours after they're normally asleep?

Exactly, those poor babies were on the verge of passing out.

Not shocked considering the schedules I have seen this year, but furious! I have been to many comps this year where they have had the oldest girls going first, then minis performing as late as 7 pm. That doesn't sound late, but to a 5 year old, that is a long day of stress and waiting. I would also guess no senior age girl wants to look perfect at 6 am.

My youth 2 has been scheduled as late as 7 pm with awards at 8:30, and I thought that was crazy. I get that they want to fit in more teams, but if safety is such a big hot button topic right now, why not assess the effects of competition schedules on theses girls? I also know that no matter what they do, someone is always going to be unhappy with the schedule, but I wish it was a little more consistent. One weekend we have to be at a comp at 7 am, the next 3 pm. If all of these companies would be a bit more consistent with scheduling it would be a lot easier on participants and parents.

i'm not sure why this is happening but a lot last season level 5 teams would go first then 4 then 3 then 2&1 .... or 5 , 4 ,2&1 , then 3 ... its weird the little ones need sleep ! a lot of the youth parents were upset that on a Sunday they were competing at like 8 and had school the next day .. for little ones thats kinda late

Megaroo- I agree! Especially if you have to travel home. I know a few Youth 5's have had this issue as well. Having awards so late can be tough for little people (and their parents!)

Not that I think youth 1 or actually any team going that late is okay but I know sometimes competitions have to let the older girls go early. For example in Texas football is HUGE so in november-december when playoff games start so competitions put the older teams first so girls could compete then go cheer at their playoff games. Also this time of the year is prom season, so the older girls may go first so they can still go to prom afterwards.
