All-Star International Level 5 Teams

Okay, so don't kill me for asking this because I kind of feel dumb already about asking this question. But, can someone explain to me what a international team is. I think I know what it is. But,I'm just kind of confused on it because, a gym I used to cheer at posted a status saying " taking applications for our new international 5 team"

international is a team for people 14+ and its level 5. this is the division most teams from other countries compete in at worlds.

Above pretty much posted it all, but this is also the "open division"- there's no age cap, so a lot of college kids, adults, etc compete in it as well! There also level 6, coed and allgirl for both levels

Yep, as long as they're older than 14

in this division at worlds they only allow the top three teams from each country into finals hence the name international

Also note that the International level 6 divisions has a 17+ age instead of the 14+ that the level 5 does.

this is the same thing i ask myself, its really not the cheerleading WORLDS for every division besides 4, more like cheerleading SUPER SUPER SUPER NATIONALS.

(as a scottish cheerleader) I have raised this point in another thread and was told... ICU is for nations to battle it out, worlds is for allstar programs to compete. I have no doubt in my mind that 99% of american teams would beat any team scotland put out but I felt it unfair (even though only 3 get through to finals from each country) that there are SOOOO many american teams in the international divisions to start with when you have the majority of the competition filled with american-only divisions!

they honestly shouldnt call it WORLDS if ICU already is actually worlds!
and i agree its not fair to either of us your taking in lets 70 international teams only 3 are going to finals from america. . . . why are we spending 1,000's in america to cheer for an international team? . . . can we just have like a super senior level?
