I think a team's season should be what GETS them to worlds, but not necessarily what WINS worlds. I like the way our current worlds is set up with a prelims/finals situation.
Agian, I'm all in favor, however the "cheer world" has turned into "everyone's a winner" and doesn't want anyone to lose, THEREFORE I see it being a VERY hard road to have "One Winner".
I'm firmly convinced that for the vast number of people the thing that influences their behavior in the most consistant and important manner other than family relationships is money. Of course they all are influenced by money. If Jam Brands did something bold like that it would be for money. I just like a set of rules and judging defined from the first competition, the same for everyone whether they have political influence or not, with a season of competition to adjust to the judging, scoresheet and the competitors, and a champion crowned by that process with the final product being what wins or loses based on real experience. It is not that way now.
I share those goals. I don't think that profit isn't necessarily the main reason that many of those don't currently happen. The way the USASF is set up, things simply don't happen as quickly as they would in a private business. Bureaucracies are often painfully slow.
yeh its a bummer about the travel costs, america is a holiday destination for brits so you can get great deals. But as i said alot of companies would pay all travel expenses in return for your knowledge :) so anybody wanting to come over ask and I'm sure myself or the other brits/europeans on the board can put you in touch with the right people!Travel is significantly more expensive for the US to Europe and back than Europe to the US and back. I believe our ticket prices 'usually' are doubled.
Just wondering, but what happened with America's Best? I haven't heard anythingFeel free to link. I had heard about America's Best.
To speculate (cause what fun is all this if we don't speculate) if Jamfest Super Nationals only loses a few teams because of not offering Worlds Bids (and really Worlds bids only affects a small percentage of teams) then there is no reason to offer them, and hence no reason to be in the USASF? I believe they already have a top notch registration system and probably the insurance as well.
