Just because a job is hard doesn't mean we aren't allowed to criticize. We want someone on TV who knows as much about cheerleading as we do. They don't have to be patronizing to get a loyal audience or alienate everybody. But calling things the wrong names, saying its a single when its a double, going off on the wrong skills to 'prove' to the audience why one team didn't get a certain place. Really?? The casual watcher has no idea why someone got 1st-Last. Blaming a basket when the next team team bobbles the heck out of a stunt confuses everyone! (this is not a comment on the placements... I think those were fine) But making up reasons for what places teams go is just dumb.
It comes down to this. What 'they' (be it ESPN, Varsity, the production company, or the commentators) think cheerleading is or is important in cheerleading isn't true anymore. How many CRINGE when Jeff Webb commentates? Just want someone who knows and loves this sport as much as we do. JUSTIN CARRIER FOR THE WIN!
