I think if all local competitions were the same way as a national competition, nationals would lose their "special-ness". Why would you travel far for the experience or the competition of more teams if it was in your own backyard?

That's true. Plus, imagine getting all pumped up to compete on a floor like NCA's if it was just a little local. Hahah :)

For some reason my team always does worse in local comps. Maybe we need the loud music and lights and pressure to pump us up. We can still win at locals but for some reasons we sparkle at nationals.

I like when Local comps are held by Bigger companies i guess. Like Jamfest & Coastal here in Pittsburgh, those are fun. but those little tiny ones in high school gyms or here it's RMU get sooo annoying and long. Just not a fun thing.

Same! It feels like practice! We do better though because of that. Kinda backwards I think but it's whatever. I don't think I would want to live in a city where comps always take place it would take away from the adrenaline.
