This is a question for cheerleaders that have been on or are on an All Star team... Some cheerleaders are on high school cheer teams that aren't so organized or in control. And some of us are thinking serious about joining an All Star team, like myself. I've never cheered for an All Star team for my Senior year and I'd really like to have so suggestions or tips please?(:

go in to a local gym and watch a practice or take some classes.

be sure you really like the gym before you commit for a year. Talk to the owner or coaches if you can, ask girls you know that cheer there how they like it.

If you still want it after you see it/experience it a little, talk to your parents about the financial commitment. Then, go for it!

good luck!

I agree, try some tumbling classes and watch practices. Some gyms have April Skills Clinics before tryouts and you can usually watch Worlds Teams (if the gym has some) practicing. going to classes also acquaints you with the staff, and it's good for them to know you a little if you think of trying out. See if the gym has a tryout info packet on their website, that usually has all the details about costs, competitions, skills, etc. Most of all, make sure wherever you go HAVE FUN! Allstar cheer is so much fun and a really rewarding experience! Good luck :)

I would definitely try it out! I cheered allstar my entire life, and I cheered freshman year on top of it, and I just didn't like high school at all. Its much different. I would say to take some classes at the gym you want to go to, just to get to know the coaches maybe before tryouts. good luck!

Do it! Take tumbling, and maybe go to the gyms, watch worlds teams on youtube to get an idea of what its like. It is very different from high school cheer, and hard work, but it is worth every second of it!

@ alexamarysouza: Thank you! For the most part, I like high school cheering, but I do feel like Allstars would be sososo much better.
@ cheerfearleader: Thank you! I'll definitely take your advice! I used to take tumbling in two different gyms but they weren't very good. I'll search more(: And girl, I'm on YouTube ALLLLL the time watching Worlds, NCA, and Allstars. I'm so jealous lol.

I'd recommend all-stars if you seriously love the sport. I did it for 4 years and absolutely loved every second of it, and now that I'm on a collegiate tea, I miss all-star so much. I find there is a lot of differences, so you have to go in with an open mind and ready to learn different techniques and work hard, but I would definitely say it is worth it :)
