All-Star New International Division With Us Teams

I'm confused about this new International Division, when I hear International I think of teams outside of the US. Why are US teams going to the International Division? Are they going that route so they can get a Summit bid, win?

It's a division like any other. International just refers to a different set of rules, age grid etc that every country follows. Not jsut the USASF grid and rules.

Plus, how can something be truly international if someone were to say that the US shouldn't or can't do it?
