It seems boys get treated differently in dance too. Of course all my knowledge comes from dances mom ( not the most reliable source) but they have said countless times that judges will place boys higher at awards to keep them dancing, even if they don't really deserve their placement.

Hmm sounds a little like how we treat international teams

@cheernerd5678 How was the AP Calc test? Cp

I'm so glad that you made that comment. I felt the exact same way.
... It was worse than I expected. Luckily the order/topics of the multiple choice were very similar to our final, so I knew what I did wrong on the final and how to fix it. I thought the multiple choice was okay, but the free response is another story... :( way harder than our practice one and the individual practice problems. Usually I feel like "eh, I kind of know the gist of this each part, even if I mess up going through the steps" which still gets you partial credit... But some of them I looked at and was like "what are you even asking..."

:( Hope you did better than you think you did! Cp is taking it next year.

BC? Good luck to her! It's a hard class. I'm good at math (2 years ahead) and I struggled. It's doable though. I probably would've done better if I had done more homework, but between school cheer, allstar, and being a yearbook editor I just didn't have the time.
For reference: I've never had less than an A in a math class, and first semester I ended up with an A- and this semester will probably end up a B/B+. So it's not like I went from an A to a D... I'm just not used to having to work so hard for a grade
I'm hoping I did better than I thought I did too. I went in feeling confident so maybe that's why it was such a blow. Lesson learned, I don't feel nearly as prepared for my Lang test tomorrow or my US one next week!

Sorry for posting a million times but UGH THE NERVE OF SOME PEOPLE
You do not get to tweet in all caps about how awful it is that we used the wrong picture in the yearbook if we posted all the panel pages so that people if people wanted a different pic or name they could get it fixed. Seriously. That's your own fault.
There are 2000 kids in our school. We do a heck of a job getting 99% of the things in the book correct. Don't hate us because we made a few mistakes. We are HUMANS. We have to create a 368 page book that covers the entire school year, but has to be completely done by spring break. We work with coaches who refuse to reply to our emails and teachers who won't let us take pictures of their classes. We cover every sport and club, even though we have lives too. Sorry if it's not good enough for you. We do the best we possibly can, for unappreciative students who only see the mistakes, and only 50% of the student body even purchasing books. We have a YEARBOOK WITH VIDEOS THAT COME UP WHEN YOU HOVER YOUR PHONE OVER IT. How many schools can say that? Certainly not the schools down the road that charge more for a smaller book that doesn't win awards like ours does. Be thankful. Our books are amazing. And they cost $45.
For God's sake, the theme is silver linings.
I want to be happy about our book coming out and being amazing, but these people make it so incredibly difficult. Grr.

No - AB! I think she would die in BC. She's taking IB Methods SL this year (math is one of her lower levels) so she had the choices of AB Calc, BC, or just College Calc for next year. She wound up choosing the AP AB because she was concerned collges would think she was slacking in math if she didn't take one of the AP options.

^^^ My yearbook staff experience word for word. The first thing anybody ever notices is the mistakes. You spend over half the year building the yearbook (I built every one of my pages in Photoshop instead of the stupid Balfour program so they'd be perfect, and learned to put in QR codes so we'd have the video thing), but the only thing people ever point out is what went wrong.

Shortened it to save space. This has really nothing to do with you, just the people who did yearbook my senior year. It was about 5 girls and they all designed and edited the yearbook on their spare time, and one of my best friends was the main editor, like she reviewed the whole rough draft and then ok'd it to be printed, you'd think she would pick up that my WHOLE name was spelled wrong. Like not even just a few letters, my first name was a completely different name and my last name had commas instead of m. I was actually so mad, it's my graduating yearbook that I payed $60 for and my name is butchered in it.

We use Adobe InDesign. It's seriously so frustrating. My friend just texted me "lol the concert band page is so bad" I'm like "lol the band director is useless and got mad at us for taking pictures and refused to give us any information so I'm not sorry about it. If you want a better page talk to him :)" it's like people think we won't be offended by it. Uh do you know how many hours went in to this book? I spent 10 hours a week on it, 12 late nights (8 hours each), several unofficial late nights, and countless lunch periods.... Times 24 staff members. You treating our hard work like that is actually hurtful, believe it or not!

@CheerBank yeah BC is rough. Everyone I know in AB seems to think it's okay, I'm sure she'll be fine! I'm not sure how the AB test was but I overheard some guys (not ones I would consider exceptionally intelligent) saying they think they got 4s, so I'm assuming it wasn't as bad as ours. Good luck!

We taped photographs to paper... and mailed it to a printer. I didn't love it.

That is all. #1980sYearbook

My school changed our book format from traditional like years past to chronological with modules instead of full page spreads. I can only imagine what people have to complain about. We also are going on 3 advisors in 3 years. Our current one wants nothing to do with journalism, gave up on us declaring there are no more rules because he doesn't care, and screams at us everyday. And when I say scream, I'm serious. And on top of that, about 3 weeks before our final deadline, our server crashed and we lost half the book. Literally if anyone has anything bad to say about the book I'm probably gonna kill them. This was so stressful and I'm not even in it because our school has a rule where if you're in yearbook you can't be covered. But our books are crown winning :)

OMG our band is the same way! Kids in the band were griping at us for putting kids names in that had quit/got kicked off late in the season. Like really?
ETA it sounds like you have worked super hard on your yearbook. At my school yearbook is a class (but it's longer than any other class because it covers both our lunches, so we eat lunch in our room). I have to admit I didn't put in very many late nights, I felt like I had plenty of time to complete my pages and such. I still feel your pain though!

This is kind of irrelevant, but one of my close friends is on yearbook staff with me and spelt my name wrong!!! And yeah there's a lot of different ways to spell Caitlyn but he just spelled it with two L's. I was like thanks.
