My wisdom teeth came out about 21. They were growing backwards to my ears and there wasn't any room in my mouth for them anyway. They put me under. I wasn't allowed to keep them cos they were considered a biohazard. I wanted to hide them under my pillow to see if my parents were still on the Tooth Fairy ball. I do believe they smashed them up and vacuumed out all the pieces though.

I was slightly swollen, but couldn't take the liquids, so I started eating solid foods that night (carefully, and in very little pieces).n I also pitched 4 games of softball the next day in a tournament. No pain past the first hour for me.

I did! My dress came exactly as described and fit like a glove. Will definitely use it again. My dress actually came a day sooner than ordered too so that was nice. :-)

I hope mine does! I can't get any accessories until it comes in because a couple of the people that had the dress mentioned that it was actually a rose gold instead of a true gold, and I have to get my nails done within that time frame as well. Then again, last year I got my nails done the morning of the dance, as well as my shoes

I need some prayers to make it through the last four hours of this 12 hour shift with the most immature 25+ year olds I've ever met.

It's seriously like high school here and I just dont relate to anyone and I want to go home.

And I havent slept in over 24 hours.

Wow, most of you got your wisdom teeth removed way later than I did. I got mine out at 15.

my surgeon said he preferred them as young as possible, like when they're still little buds and not totally calcified since it's much easier to get them out. unfortunately, my actual dentist didn't feel the same way so i wasn't referred to the surgeon until it was a major problem and they had to cancel all scheduled surgeries the next day for my emergency. i wish i got them out earlier.

Ouch! That is so wrong on the part of your dentist.

Hate to be so nosy, how was your experience getting them taken out at such an early age?...

I had my last one taken out last year at 50 and it was painful, but not as painful as the first one at 23... That first wisdom tooth got infected and the root had to be cut out from the gums...

Anyway, I heard most of us have at least 4 wisdom teeth and they were needed at one time, but because the human skull evolved over the centuries they no longer can fit in the skull, just like we all have a tail bone(coccyx) that have gotten smaller over time too.

I think it's because a few thousand years ago dental hygiene wasn't quite what it is now so by the time you got to your twenties you would have lost a few teeth, so the wisdom teeth came through and pushed all the remaining ones together and filled in the gaps at the back. But now there generally isn't a use for them, especially with braces.

Also if anyone really wants to be a bit creeped out (at least I was) look at a picture of a child skull with both sets of teeth *shudder*

I got them done on a Friday morning so I missed class that day, laid low for the weekend and was back on Monday. All I remember was that it was spirit week for Homecoming that week and everyone was taking pictures. Of course mine came out looking like a chipmunk.

I've always had a pretty high pain tolerance so it wasn't awful for me. I took a pain pill in the morning and another one once that one started wearing off after lunch. It was nice being that young because I still had my mom to take care of me and cook special things for me. Pain wise it would probably be the same for me now at 23 but I'd have to fend for myself which would suck, hahah

Wow, you know I did not think about the natural teeth shedding, good thinking and observation!

I guess that child with both primary and permanent teeth in the skull kind of remind me of Sharks. Sharks have 2 rows of teeth and replaced each other quickly when one falls out...

off topic:
Trivial question: Did you know that Sharks are natural born killers?
Shark Mom carries up to 20 embryos and that first and most mature embryo will eat up all 19 embryos (siblings) before he/she is born... Already born serial killer,,,Crazy! That is why in Shark World there is never a set of twins born either....
