Going to Fenway Park on Sunday for Derek Jeters last game. Getting pretty excited.

My 16 year old would be so jealous. Yesterday, he was going on about how wonderful Derek Jeter is. He said, "you know he's amazing if he's got me liking the Yankees!" Hahaha! Funny kid. Nobody in this baseball-loving house would ever tolerate Yankees attire, but I got this for him...

We're going to see the Mariners (probably get their butts kicked) tomorrow. *sigh*

I hope you plan on wearing something Yankee related, at least a Jeter shirt. Your life is not complete until you've experienced a game at Fenway in full Yankee garb.
The woman I got the tix from is s diehard Boston fan and she made the same challenge.

As much as us Sox fans HATE the Yankees, I bet very few will give you a hard time if you are wearing a Jeter shirt. There are certain athletes that earn universal respect (even if they do play for the evil empire :D) and Jeter is one of them. Should be a great game!

I grew up in Boston and spent many of my winter vacations in Winter Haven with the team since my uncle worked for the Sox. After moving to NJ, I ended up marrying a huge Yankee fan. I suddenly found myself with season tixs inside the Evil Empire on every Friday night- lol! Going to games have always been interesting. I have been threatened by a NYPD officer that he should "run me over" while I crossed the street in the Bronx and a group of FDNY fireman have given me the finger as their truck drive by. Inside the stadium is brutal but fun at times; especially since I always wear my colors. My husband receives a similar "welcome" when he sets foot in Fenway.

My hubby decided that yesterday was a hookey day and pulled cp from school and took her to the game. Since it is raining pretty hard today, they might have seen Jeter's last game in NYC.

Despite the rivalry, I expect that Jeter's last game is going to be magical. It is fitting that it will be at Fenway. Have fun!

Totally agree. I am a little peeved though our season is ending in Boston yet again! I actually have a 1996 American League champs Yankees cap that Jeter signed for me when we saw them play at Fenway at the end of the season that year. Good times!
Hopefully the rain will stop here today and they will be able to get in his last game at the Stadium. I feel so lucky to have watched his career from start to end.

I'm going to my last Giants game of the season. Unless they make playoffs, but then they would have to continue to win, make it to the wildcard game, and beat the Pirates in Pittsburg. And as much as I love my Giants, I don't think that's going to happen.

Yes, we are rough on fans wearing jerseys from other cities, even if it is not baseball related. The old stadium was much worse though; many of those fans were unfortunately priced out of their seats at the new stadium. The new stadium is much more family friendly!

I remember being at a game back in the early 90s when someone wore a Canucks jersey to the game during the Stanley Cup finals - he was verbally abused, had a multitude of things thrown at him any time he got up from his seat, and eventually got into a fight with someone where they beat the crap out of each other and were all thrown out. That was pretty common though and we of course placed the blame on him for wearing that to the stadim - he really should have known better .

We have good friends with amazing season tix at Fenway so we have been to a few Yankee games there over the years (but not in a very long time, probably not since that game I mentioned in 1996 and definitely not since the Red Sox finally won the World Series) and have always gone wearing Yankee jerseys and caps. It was always good natured abuse we suffered and we had no problem taking it.

So issue. Remember creepy cheerlover88? Yeah he's still thriving. I blocked him on instagram over a year ago and so he can't follow me, but it creeps me out to think that he must be searching my name and looking at my stuff?? He commented on my ROOMMATE'S picture of us from the football game last week. She has never had any affiliation with cheerleading. I told him to go away and had her block him, and he caused a huge scene in the comments. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME. I'm seriously going to report this to the local police if I get harassed again by this guy. He says irrelevant things about me "having an ego & that makes me not want to be friends with him"...uhm no excuse me a**hole, YOU'RE the one with the ego! good lord I'm so over this & I feel stalked.

He still follows me and periodically likes my pictures. My profile is public so I just let it happen. He never really comments but if he does I'll just delete them.

Yes, very odd going on to your friends pages, though.

I mean I would have no problem with him liking pictures but he is freakin' blocked and so I know there's no way he possibly follows me, so he must've searched my name or something? I just don't wanna think about it. its creepy as hell.

He wants a rise out of you, that's what he wants. He is just another Internet troll. As hard as it is, just ignore him. He'll eventually leave you and your friends alone.
