I grew up in Boston and spent many of my winter vacations in Winter Haven with the team since my uncle worked for the Sox. After moving to NJ, I ended up marrying a huge Yankee fan. I suddenly found myself with season tixs inside the Evil Empire on every Friday night- lol! Going to games have always been interesting. I have been threatened by a NYPD officer that he should "run me over" while I crossed the street in the Bronx and a group of FDNY fireman have given me the finger as their truck drive by. Inside the stadium is brutal but fun at times; especially since I always wear my colors. My husband receives a similar "welcome" when he sets foot in Fenway.
My hubby decided that yesterday was a hookey day and pulled cp from school and took her to the game. Since it is raining pretty hard today, they might have seen Jeter's last game in NYC.
Despite the rivalry, I expect that Jeter's last game is going to be magical. It is fitting that it will be at Fenway. Have fun!
