I'm terrified of needles, too! My friend joked that I passed out because I was working myself up too much over the needle. Which is ironic coming from that particular friend because she passes out every year when she gets her flu shot.
That's how I am! I work myself up too much over the needle when giving blood. I'll get like half way done and be okay, then I start to think "holy hell theres a needle IN. MY. ARM." And then I start to freak out and get light headed. Then the nurses always tip my chair back and put cold compresses on me and I feel bad and embarrassed...
I can get shots like a champ though! As long as I don't see the needle going into me... I have a thing with seeing needles pierce skin, it's nauseating to me. Can't even watch it on fake medical shows.

I love donating blood! It literally doesn't phase me. I've gotten lightheaded once my junior year because I didn't give myself enough time to recover and started the long walk to my car a little too soon. A rested on a bench and was fine.

I do it this week every single year for the South Carolina/Clemson Blood Drive! It's the largest student-run blood drive in the county. The two schools battle to see who can donate the most blood the week before the annual rivalry football game. South Carolina has won six years in a row and I've given all six years! Going for #7 this week.

I tried too, but I have very tiny veins in my arms and the blood flow wasn't fast enough to reach the minimum amount within the fifteen minutes allowed. I was only a few milliliters short, but the rules are very strict and they couldn't use any of my blood, they had to throw it away. And my arm hurt for days afterwards because they tried moving the needle to get a better angle. As much as I'd like to donate blood, it's not really something I want to experience again.

I've never given blood. Apparently I don't weight enough.
Double post but same. I always went to the blood drives in High school to get out of class and enjoy some free food and during my last blood drive I figured I probably weighed enough. I did but I then found out I was anemic after I passed out within the first three minutes

I tried to donate plasma so I wouldn't have to keep bugging my parents for money but I have "insufficient veins" and I needed to drink more water and come back in a month.
