This is Zero my boyfriends dog who was just put down in October :( he is a chow chow and he only got him two years ago, he was 10 at the time. It still doesn't feel like he's gone because I haven't been to my boyfriends house in months because it is under construction since the fire and it just seems like I haven't seen the dog in so long because I haven't been to the house.
My first pet was a border collie named Shelby that I got for grading day in grade 1 she was six when J got her and died about 5 years ago. She will forever be my best friend.

Eta: @Eyes On The Prize I used to have a dwarf frog named Marcel! But sadly he passed away after an altercation with my foot-long algae eater fish. I want to get another one but I'll be gone for a month on christmas break and have no one to feed it. I'll probably get a new one in January.

Oh no, sorry to hear! I hope you get the chance to get a new one. I love dwarf frogs. I started out with a dwarf frog named Hercules. I wanted to get a couple more dwarf frogs and name them all after ancient Greek characters. He died suddenly less than a day after I got him. (Not so Herc-like :P ) When I went back to the pet store for a new one, the lady told me all of the frogs that came with him had died over night. She said it happens sometimes when they make long journeys as they are a lot more fragile than most aquatic pets. She offered me the frog I have now for a discount and told me they are a lot more "sturdy" and stand up to a lot more handling. For three years she has traveled back and forth between home and college in a water bottle in my backpack since I'm not allowed to take pets on the bus. She's definitely had her fair share of froggy adventures. I love seeing people's reactions when they first see her.

Later I found out that they live for about 15 years.... I honestly didn't want a pet frog for 15 years lol. I love having her but it's not like a dog or cat. You can't cuddle or play with them or form an emotional bond with them. They're just living decorations like a plant. I'm undecided what will happen if I have to move far away because I KNOW I won't be able to smuggle her onto a plane like I did on the bus. She might go live with one of my room mates since she loves animals as much as I do and I know she will be looked after and cared for. But Id feel bad for giving her away.

Using a water bottle is a great idea. I used to put plastic wrap over the tank and hold it on my lap for car rides. Didn't work, I'd be soaked half way through with about 2 inches of water left in the tank. Last year my boyfriend got me a beta for christmas, we didn't think of the whole me living 5 hours away situation, so he had a pet fish January-April and then I had it until August.

My room mate - the one who might inherit my frog - had a beta (named Cas after the supernatural character) and tried to bring it home in its tank on the bus in a draw string bag.... I would never put up with that lol. The water bottle was a life saver. It was one of those freeby reusable ones colleges give out the first week of school. Make sure you fill it up most of the way with water. The more water means the less they slosh around in there and the safer they'll stay :)

I love seeing everyone's fur babies!
This is my baby, Moco. I have much more precious pictures, but this one was too funny not to share.

And my other baby, Mischief. I adopted him a little over a year ago and he's definitely come a long way. He was underweight, going through heartworm treatments, his fur was really patchy from flees, and had some some stomach problems. But now he's chunky and happy (:

I have an English Bulldog names Stella, don't know how to post pictures still so I won't be doing that. & I had a turtle named Hector, got him on a Friday, went to cheer camp (my aunt took care of him) & when I got home monday, he literally died in my hands. So just Stella now :) but I've had my fair share of hamsters & hermit crabs

Do your grandparents want another dog?

Just asking because I know a fair amount of people that prefer to cut back on pets as they age.

They do! (:
They had a pug that got out of their yard at the beginning of the summer and they haven't been able to find her. They really miss having a furry friend, and they've always liked bulldogs, so we think it'll be a good fit.

Grandparents getting dogs as presents make the cutest videos on YouTube.
