My twitter name is three letters and one number. I just went to Pipl and typed in my username only and I was the fourth thing to pop up on Pipl. Someone may know someone, etc, too.

Notyourcheermom returned zero hits! ;)

Also ETA: I am friends with probably 25 parents from Fierceboard to Facebook, too, fun times. Not like I am truly anon on here or need to be. I always keep in mind the whatever I say can be printed and marked as an exhibit and I can be cross examined on rule in mind when typing! Just interesting my Twitter username brought me right up and my Fierceboard username brought up zero.

Ooooh, now I know who you are on Twitter :p

its kinda scary what people can find out these days, semi non related. I had a bunch of mean girls hack my myspace back in the early/late days of middle school and high school, and they turned all my photos and info into explicit porn photos and information. As well as sharing my home address and phone number. I was mortified, much less knowing i was openly sharing (although not willingly) pornography to a bunch of minors on my myspace. Luckily it was deleted fairly quickly once i notified myspace myself of what was going on. You never know what kind of pervs are out there just anonymously looking at your social media accounts, and then boom one person has a fit and shares your private information for hundreds to see.

So I accepted an offer for an internship back in December, and then about three weeks later was contacted because a position I was interested in opened up. I had an interview today for the other one and was offered it on the spot. I have no clue what to tell the first internship. Its super low key, it doesn't really meet the internship guidelines for my school, and I know I wont be getting much out of it. How do I tell them that I can no longer continue with the internship without sounding like an a-hole?

I feel that when you're friends with one fierceboard parent on facebook, it doesn't take long to figure the others out. Everyone has a certain "style" of writing/personality that it's really easy to see who is who. So anyone who wants to stay truly anon on here: don't be facebook friends with another fierceboarder ;).

"I regret to inform you that I will be unable to fulfill _________ internship position at this time. Thank you for this opportunity."

Or something along those lines

Can they really be anonymous? IP addresses can be traced. They're registered to someone, right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In my very limited and poor understanding of how it works, static IP's are tied to a computer, however, if she was using a phone or tablet it would be tied to a dynamic IP from the service provider. You and I would not be able to tie that specifically to a person but, could tie it down to a county or city based on the service provider. Average Joe would have to have a court order to have an internet service provider track down an IP on a phone or tablet. Techie's please correct me if that is not correct information, I am actually regurgitating information that I overheard two guys talking about at Starbuck's

What is she gonna do? Call the authorities in a different state and have them go to her house and tell her to stop? Realistically I can't imagine the authorities caring that a little girls tweets are hurting people's feelings. And trying to sue a minor is probably tricky so no use in doing that. Public humiliation would be the best bet.

The blackmailing stunt would have been a federal matter since it happened across state lines and the FBI does have a task force for it. I'm not saying it would be their #1 priority case, but they definitely could have and would have pursued it.

A really good hacker can go dark in the right channels of the internet, but the average kid doesn't have those skills.

how many friggin times is obama gonna force cry on camera? is he trying to break a record for the number of times a president cries on camera?

Eye roll at your post in general because there was nothing forceful about his tears

But either the Today Show this morning or NBC Nightly (I can't remember I watch so much news) had a story basically about times when presidents or elected officials have cried. It was interesting. You should look for it

Anyway. His amount of times "crying" doesn't rival John Boehner so there's that.

Short and sweet. You don't have to over explain anything to them. You can let them know a better opportunity came up or just let them know you will be unable to fulfill the internship. Be sure to thank them for their time and the opportunity.

Thanks! Right now this is what I have:
Unfortunately I will not be able to fulfill the requirements of this internship for the historical society at this time. Thank you for this opportunity and the time you have spent.

Does it sound good? I just hate burning bridges.

I wonder about these things though, especially the cyperbullying issue. While blackmail might get the authority's attention, it has to be some serious blackmail for it to jump high on their radar. And unfortunately, they might get more high profile cases and the small ones won't be addressed.

And, the cyberbullying cases that have gotten attention have resulted in suicide or serious self harm. It's sad that someone has to reach such a breaking point in order for the problem to be addressed. If someone was to alert the police of a cyberbullying case, they would have to have a really strong case in order for them to jump on it right away.

Maybe the police need a bigger task force to address problems such as cyberbullying. If someone calls the police and tells them that there is domestic violence occurring , the police show up right away. But, if someone calls the police and says that they are being cyberbullied, are the police going to show up?

Does anyone have any recommendations for travel mugs/tumblers for hot coffee? There are so many out there it's hard to narrow it down. I prefer ones that have patterns or color options, but it's not a requirement.

The yeti and orca ones are great and keep things super hot or super cold.
