Opinion question.
The first weekend of March I broke my macbook display while traveling. I dropped it at a repair shop that Saturday, March 5. (My AppleCare is expired and Apple SERIOUSLY overcharges for repairs.) They said they don't handle those in store, so it would have to be sent away that Monday and take "a week to a week and a half, tops". I haven't heard back and I'm going out of town again this weekend and really need it back before then (I have a second job that is all after hours and all on the computer, so it's not just for recreational use.) They put me on with a technician who said it was back in his possession and the display is fine, but he discovered a camera issue that occurred during the repair process. So now they have to send it BACK to the initial repair techs to fix that, and wait for it to come back in. Probably going to be another week.
Should I ask for money off or something? I paid half when I dropped it off and the second half is due on pick up. The initial break was totally my fault of course. But it's gone WAY past the estimated deadline, and I'm pretty annoyed they didn't call to update me. Plus they admitted to straight up breaking it again, haha. I have no issues paying for the new display part that had to be replaced, but I'm not so sure I should be paying for the labor at this point.
