She is in her own world 97% of the time, so maybe. I just couldn't believe it. I sat and stared at my phone when she sent me that message because I was at a complete loss for words. I just sent her a link about how taxes work and didn't talk to her again for the rest of the night. Lol

I think when you strip away the crazy, the bigotry, the sexism and the racism from his campaign....at the root of all of his policies you will find a "conservative" democratic view.
Its like when ever someone I know that identifies as a dem, takes one of those identify which Candidate Most Closely Matches your views...almost always it goes 1. Hillary 2. Bernie. 3. Trump..... or 1. Bernie, 2. Hillary. 3 Trump

You're not alone. I was raised in a hard-core republican household. Literally, my dad made us pay "taxes" to him when we were kids. Whenever we had ice-cream or a treat, he would take a few bites, and that was our way of paying.

I had this same experience last year when one of my close friends was talking about how Obama was a Muslim. She wasn't even saying it in a negative way, she honestly thought because of what her uncle told her that Obama was a practicing Muslim. I was like :confused: honey it will be YEARS before a Muslim is even considered for a presidential candidate in this country, if ever. I was astounded that an 18 year old who was pretty socially and politically aware, who also had a higher grade than me in poli sci, thought that :rolleyes:

The only thing that stops me from being a republican is that I care more about social issues than economic issues.
I don't doubt that there will ever come in my life where I vote Republican
And when I do I will keep that to myself. Take it to the grave.
