I might be in accordance with your opinion. :DI might be opinionated.
I cracked up at "Suzy Almost-Handspring".
Watching this makes me feel like I'm sitting at the grown folks table lol.

I skipped to there and then I couldn't stop watching. (And totally agree with King... Maybe because I'm a math person too.) the idea at the end was really good. I also agree with Andre about different styles - it's especially noticeable in dance scores but also plays out in other areas which sucks. I don't think you could fix it without limiting creativity so I guess you just have to hope the judging works out in your favor.Skip to 40:40, love the points made.
I was thinking, didn't they use the day 1 difficulty, day 2 execution scoring method at Champions League?I skipped to there and then I couldn't stop watching. (And totally agree with King... I LOL'ed when Shane stood up and the camera froze!
So funny when the camera froze when he closed out his lap top!
I like the idea about video submissions, so once a team performs the judges have to to score them right at that moment!? Why can't they wait till the whole division perform to judge the team and hand out final scores or are the judges not allowed to change scores after a team has performed? Say team A (SS5) performs, judges give them a score based on the new scoring system are the judges allowed to make adjustments to the score of team A after team B performs?
Are gym doesn't discuss scores with parents at all, unless you ask, is this common with other gyms. I personally hate having to ask, I wish they would let us know where the teams stand and what they scores high and low on.

I very rarely discuss scores with parents, because honestly, it rarely goes over well as MOST parents do not understand how the scoresheet works (in my own experience). This is not always true, but it has proven to be true more often than not.

I totally understand what you are saying, but sometimes as a parent I feel like I'm so out of the loop, but I guess at the end of the day parents knowing the scores is not going to make a difference on how the team performs since we aren't the coaches.

One thing I can say that seems to be true most of the time, is that technique makes a HUGE difference. I, and I assume most every coach, creates a routine/puts skills in a routine that will hit the scoresheet in the best way they know how to do, but technique makes or breaks a routine. I can put 15 LTDs in a stunt sequence but it doesn't mean they'll hit it with good technique so the team with the better technique will usually come out on top.

I have complete trust in our coaches to put the best routine out there for our athletes but when we lose curiosity gets the best of me and want to know how close we were to the team that beat us, lol. Most comps post scores but some don't and when they don't I'm left wondering how close they were, in most instances I know why we lost but I still want to know by how much.
