As a judge, would you rather a level 3 cheerleader do a round off flip flop rebound or a bust their back tuck?

Just curious, thanks!

No throw.. and flip-flop? lmao first time i heard bhs called that :)

I suppose as a judge I would rather see a no throw (as in I would deduct less for that than a bust).

As a coach or competitor, I would much rather have an athlete/teammate go hard and bust than no throw.

As a coach, parent and judge...no throw. I'd rather the kids learn proper progression than risk injury for the low points that tumbling is worth.

No Throw. On the Varsity score sheet having one person bust a tuck in Level 4 is the equivalent of the team doing Level 3 tumbling.

I was thinking the same thing! haha ohh the many different names for things in the cheer world. I agree, no throw. I have seen many coaches put their athletes on the mat with shaky skills and more often than not they become deductions and more risk for injury.

Also, that's very interesting on the Varsity scoresheet..better safe than sorry!

Yup. Had the UK tumbler thrown a layout, instead of a full, and landed it....they would be your National Champions.

Okay, thanks!
I noticed at the last competition I went to a lot, and I mean ALOT of level 3 and 4's would do round off bhs rebound, rather than through their skills. As a coach during practice, I would def. rather see a girl bust then not throw it at all. But at competition, I def. understand!

if it's in a competition, then definitely no throw. i like to see clean routines and i wouldn't want to see a girl eat her tumbling because she wasn't sure on it.

if it's at practice, they can chuck it because practice is for learning.

as an athlete.. i much rather a teammate throwing and busting than not throwing at all
generally, when someone goes for a tumbling element, they go in with all purposes of executing it properly and busting is a mistake
i'd rather know that my team member was trying to do what they're supposed to and tried hard, rather than just not throw it

this situation came up a couple weeks ago on my team where a girl didnt throw her tumbling. She is one of those girls who randomly gets scared and just wont throw it.. i would MUCH rather her try and bust, than to just not give any effort.
