I remember we went to a comp (not sure which one) and at every awards, in every division they played that song for the 1st place winner. I could have freakin screamed!!!:banghead:so many teams used that in their music for baskets. or a flipping part of the pyramid...so. annoying.
I remember the first time I heard one of Josh's mixes. Our gym is only entering it's 3rd year so it's still fresh. I was listening along when they played it for the team (Youth 3 at the time) and then I heard, "Sweeeet Caroline...." (Neil Diamond) followed quickly by "She's a lady....whoa whoa whoa she's a lady" (Tom Jones) and caught another dad's eye. We were like, "what the heck?" We came from a gym that had mixes constituting the only songs played on pop radio this year. But, when we got to competition - and NO one had music like ours - that worked! I got it. That team was called the "Jets" and I told Josh, "I'm not even sure your mad skills can do something with 1960's broadway, but did you ever think of "when you're a Jet you're a jet" from West Side Story. It made it into year two's music. He's just insanely amazing. He built an 80's mix for me when he was playing around one night. It's awesome. Youtube him - dreaminjosh - he's on cheer library too. I'm trying to get him to put in the ultimate voiceover this season....I've got a great mwav of Ronald Reagan saying something that totally would be sick in a cheer routine. Who has Ronald Reagan in their mixes?!Yeah thats the way it should be done!!!! I love hearing songs that folks wouldn't even think of! Using the current song, that you know Many will have is never a good idea anyway, IMO...I am so thankful that I have a music collection of over 20.000+ CD's allows me the opportunity to pick from any and everything! I do however LOVE Everything from the 70's and 80's!! I am such an Old Skool fan!!!:fro: notice the hairstyle!!!! Haaaaaaaaaaaa!!
NO ONE!!!!! Using Gimmicks is always a Great thing to do... not just the standard music mix, the best mix is always the one that people talk about!!! and there are many forum's on here that talk about teams music all of the time...I would want that for sure!!!:fro:I remember the first time I heard one of Josh's mixes. If you had Ronald Reagan saying something in a cheer mix...I would listen to it every single day for the rest of my life. No joke. I was recently on hold with the Young Americans Foundation and their on-hold music was Ronald Reagan quotes. I thought I was going to die of happiness.I remember the first time I heard one of Josh's mixes. Our gym is only entering it's 3rd year so it's still fresh. I was there! I talked about that on a different thread. It was ridiculous.I remember we went to a comp (not sure which one) and at every awards, in every division they played that song for the 1st place winner. I could have freakin screamed!!!:banghead:
girl.. EVERY team threw their baskets to that song at some point :Pagain, at 2010 college nationals Maryland and Louisville All-Girl both threw the same skill (double full baskets) in their routines to the same part of "all i do is win" in their routines...SO funny.
only time I ever really liked this was Brandon Black 2010, the VERY first video released of them where they did a pyramid to You Raise Me Up, after that, no thank you!"Release me....Release my body"
Alllllll Around The Worrrrllldddd...Do You Hear Me......
