All-Star Re-naming Our Sport...

I am a little disgusted how easily a court can rule that cheerleading is not a sport. I forget who said it but they were dead on:
Side line Peewee cheerleading
High school basketball cheer (ours never even leave the bleachers)
Level 5 All -Star Cheer
CYO Cheer at church rallies
Cheer Perfection
...and add any other you can think of to this list!

These all fall under the umbrella of cheerleading with no true governing body. No wonder people are confused and laugh at the thought of cheer as a sport. When someone says cheer ...which one of the above scenario's are coming to their minds? Which one did the courts consider when they made their ruling.

I think we should really re-name our sport. Something respectful of the athleticism that is required to reach the highest level. We need to adopt one sole governing body even if it is flawed. We need a universal score sheet that ALL brands/venues must use.

SO GAME ON! Let's play a little game called: Name that sport!

i get where your coming from, i just have no idea what we could call it. and it would have to change for everyone in the world. they tried to make us different by calling it "all star cheer" but people just don't know what we really do, and that should change first.

Small Senior Acrostunt. Maybe hyphenated Acro-Stunt? Well I do kind of like it.

Thank you=). It's a dummy cake (styrofoam). It was a class practical and we only got graded on decorating & gum paste flowers. It sits on my bookshelf lol
