There is nothing wrong with offering to help someone. There is enough nasty critique that happens anyway, someone offering to do it without excessive negativity is a bit refreshing, actually. Besides, everyone has to start somewhere.

No coach should ever be "above" getting criticism or ideas from any source they can.

Lol, I'm pretty sure were covered on the boards. People usually don't hold anything back. :p

Seriously I might be the biggest Cheetah fan this year! Two things I'd rather see though are..
1. Tilts during their bows then into their scales (similar to wildcats 08 although they went straight to scorps)
2. A new dance (One now is great, just don't think this is one I want a worlds winning team to perform! AND I WANT YOU TO WIN WORLDS! (oh so badly)

Are you doing this to try to build skills so you can judge or go out and do critiques? If so people may be able to give you a few pointers on things you should be looking for etc.

Thank you for the feedback. You are correct on both items. This video is a couple of months old and we have actually worked on the specific things you have mentioned - and spiced some things up here and there. Hopefully, this weekend at the Majors, we will be able to show off some of our changes and improvements.

On My Judging Skills Just To Get Practice!
What you probably want to do is start watching some lower level videos. World Champion caliber teams are a lot harder to critique as they have best of the best athletes, coaches, and choreography.

Start watching some level 2-3 routines. Those are typically the hardest when it comes to judging. You'll want to try to pay attention to individual sections as well as the routine as a whole. Watch execution, timing, difficulty; ways to improve. Watch for dead time in the routine, etc.

(That's a quick one minute blurb with some advise for you)

I completely agree. Most of what I judge is level 2 and 3. And honestly, there are some great level 2 routines out there. I think it's a level that forces coaches to be truely creative with what they're doing to max their sheets. It's very hard to judge every aspect of a routine and get it exactly right. I'd suggest breaking it down into stunts, choreo and jumps/tumbling. By all means, judge the same routine on all areas, but one at a time. Also, we have an area where we assign an "overall impression" out of 5 regardless of what skill area we judge, this is where we get to comment on their energy, crowd appeal etc etc. The things that we all notice, but aren't necessarily provided for on a sheet :)
