I was just wondering what your gym does for summer. Are there just normal practices or do you have mandatory or optional camps in addition, getaways, etc. Just curious!

We have 3 practices a week, one of those is just for tumbling. Starting in August we go to the normal year schedule which is 2 practices a week. You get 2 unexcused absences for the summer, but if you have to you can go to another teams practice to make up an absence. Choreography is mandatory.

we practice twice a week and there are optional open gyms and hip hop classes. we have a few workshops and choreography which are mandatory. we start school year schedule after labor day which is two days a week for non-worlds and three times a week for worlds teams. forgot to add, im on one worlds team and one non-worlds team, and i'm physically in the gym for 9 hours a week and practicing 7 hours a week.

My CP goes for 3 hours on Thursday and for 4 hours on Saturday. Plus she does an optional back handspring clinic and a tumbling class. It really isn't a huge deal for us. We don't go anywhere during the summer anyway, so it keeps CP busy and out of trouble. :-)

Two team practices a week plus a tumbling class. This summer the gym is adding a standing tumbling class as well so cp will do that too. The gym doesn't hold any practices on the weekends during the summer which is appreciated. Attendance is more lenient but there's a definite difference in the kids who worked hard over the summer and those who took it easy come September.

We have 2 practices a week (5 hours total). Choreography is mandatory. We have had 1 team stunt clinic (4 hours) and another in August (4 hours) both are mandatory. They are on a Sat/Sun. Practices are mandatory during the summer. We had to send a schedule to our coaches/tp's two weeks ago letting them know when we will be gone during the season. It is clearly understood that if you are in town, you will be at practices. More than a couple of absences and you will be brought in for a conference. Summer is the time to get your routines/choreo together so that you can clean up the routine and be ready to compete come Nov/Dec. Mid August, we begin 3 day a week practices.

My cp practices 2 1/2 hours per team on Sundays, 1 1/2 Wednesdays. There is a mandatory 1 hour conditioning tumbling class Th, with additional tumbling classes offered a few days a week. Schedule is the same in fall with mandatory dance choreography of 3 days for each team.

Cp has one 2 hr Sunday and one 2 hr weekday practice. This goes year round. They typically add a practice day in the fall. They do one stunt choreography camp and then a second for the rest. They're typically 2 days for 8/9 hrs.

CP will have a 2 hour practice on Tuesdays thru July and then the schedule changes in August. She is at a new gym with a new team. So happy she is back in All Stars. No idea when she will practice starting in August but I think it's a 2 hour practice during the week and a 3 hour practice Sundays with a tumbling class in there somewhere. Lol

We do two weekday nights during the summer. One is 2.5 hours, the first half hour is strength training with a trainer. The other is 3 hours, the last hour is team tumbling. In the fall we keep the 2.5 hour weekday practice and move the 3 hour practice to Sunday.

We also have mandatory choreography (two 4 hour days) and most kids do tumbling or privates. We have open gyms and clinics on most weekends.

CP's gym does one practice a week; weekday opposed to weekend, plus tumbling. And privates are available.

The gym CP is taking classes at doesn't do try-outs until August, so they only do classes over the summer and practice begins after try-outs.

CP can miss her cheer practice as long as it's coach approved, otherwise they're all mandatory.

2 practices a week (weekdays) for a total of 5-6 hrs plus a skills camp. Choreography is mandatory. Some outside conditioning may also be needed.

Our gym has 2 2hr practices a week in summer. 2 mandatory 2 day camps/choreography. In the fall we switch to1 weekday practice and 1 weekend day practice

Rec team - no practices until last week of July (camp week), then competitive rec will start normal practices (hopefully) twice per week (one weeknight, one Saturday practice) in August. All star - twice per week during the week (starting at 2 pm - I don't know how this works out for working parents... we shall see), no weekends, 4th of July off, the last two weeks of August the gym is closed.
