She most definitely does deserve a bid. I would give her one!

Ok thanks. Because she really works hard.

Omg this conversation...
Well can we give our youth 1 a bid ?? I mean they are next in line twice.
All our other teams have a bid so it's not really fair to leave 1/7th of your program at home and they are almost all mini age competing as youth...
And they work really hard so is there like an application process we can apply for a bid if we really want one???

This idea is pure brilliance and my kid wants to crossover to this team at summit since she is still youth eligible.Just have them compete youth 5 at a varsity competition = free at large.

Hey they may even place better in the y5 division than they would in y1. Why didn't I think of this!

Because Special Susie Snowflake, the one who can't tumble but is the star, deserves to be there. [emoji12]But it was originally a wild card bid.. Now they all have at larges. Any insight on why the change?

We qualified all 8 of our teams last year, with 3 of them paid and the other 5 at larges or an at large at every comp in my daughters case but they only decided to take paid bids and one team in agreeance on going on the at large so they took 4 of our teams of the 8 that got bids. While every parent wants their team to make it to the Summit not all teams should. This was billed as the top 10% in the country, the best of the best. Our gym last year qualified 6 out of 7 eligible teams with 2 teams having paid bids. This year 4 out of 8 have qualified most of our teams have 2 or 3 chances to qualify or upgrade to paid. Most of our junior and senior teams remained the same each team adding 2 or 3 new girls. Not going last year is what has motivated that one team that did not go this year and they got their bid at Cheersport Atlanta . My daughters team got their paid bid last year at Cheersport Atlanta and at large bid at WSF Louisville. I personally do not like the w/c they are to easy to get. My CP division already has 21 at large or paid bids with over 30 wild cards. Last year that division had 38 teams with no Wild cards. As tough as it sounds the Summit is supposed to be the Super Bowl of the sport and not everyone should get to go.
The more bids are likely added with more competitions then. From what I have read and don't have computer handy to look it up but there are slightly more paid and at large bids this year. Last year there were 100 paid bids 350 at large. This year I remember seeing paid staying at 100 but at large at 370 ish. The wild cards have to be adding 200+ teams to the mix. Sorry my opinion of w/c is all about $$$.
