I know this has been asked regarding Worlds, but I'm wondering if anyone has gotten any information regarding military park hoppers (with the water parks and more option, I assume) and entrance into The Summit vs. the tickets purchased through Varsity. When I did a search, I noticed that there were varying answers regarding Worlds. My email a month or so ago asking about it received this reply:

The competition in ESPN WDW sports is in venues open to anyone in ESPN. The question may be because at out Worlds competition there will be charges for the final sessions. That is not the case for the Summit.

/first thread ;)

The military passes only gain you entrance into the WWoS, not the actual events that are INSIDE the WWoS (which have separate ticketing). For example, if there is a spring training game going on during UCA, and you want to watch your cheerleader and a game, you'd need the ticket to get you into WWoS, the ticket to get you into Jostens and/HP and a different ticket to see the baseball game. It's the same for any event at WWoS.

Sometimes you can "sneak" past with a crowd or sometimes a door attendant might not be super vigilant on checking, but there are separate admissions for each no matter what you're attending (Worlds, UCA, summit, etc)

I wonder why she would tell me that there isn't going to be an additional charge. grrr. It's not so much about the cost, but about being prepared when we get there. :)

From the paperwork:
Q: Will there be ticket sales for spectators of The Summit?
A: Tickets to just get into ESPN center will be available for purchase when you arrive. These tickets are not pre sold. Admissions usually run between $25 and $35 a day depending on what all the ESPN center has going on that weekend.

That makes me wonder if what the Varsity person told me is true. There's no info other than costs to enter the WWoS.

At UCA and at worlds there is a ticket booth to buy tickets to go into Jostens and Field House if you do not have a hopper pass. I believe it's like $20 per day. You must show the ticket to get into the Espn Complex and then show it again before you enter a building. I am assuming the summit will be the same or similar.

Actually, on the general FAQs it says this:
Q: Do spectators have to purchase a Walt Disney World® Park Hopper Pass ticket in order to watch competition at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex?
A: No! If you are only going to the ESPN Wide World of Sports® Complex, you may purchase a ticket at the door for $25 per day per person. However, if you purchase a Walt Disney World® Park Hopper Pass ticket from The Summit, it includes admission into the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

The other thing I quoted was from the friends & family FAQs. So, according to Varsity it's either $25 or $35 if you don't have a park hopper. I just don't know what the difference in military/Varsity park hoppers is. It should be less convoluted.

you can show up and buy a ticket to watch the summit for probably $256 and you won't pay additional to get into WWoS, in other words, that summit ticket also gets you through the main gate. if you have a park hopper through varsity, it will also get you into the summit. the park hopper that includes water park does NOT get you into the summit, that will cost you $25 (or whatever they're charging). but you don't need a park hopper of any kind just to go to summit.

Right. But a military ticket that includes admission to WWoS? That's what I want to know. Kay Cotton at Varsity told me via email that any Disney World park hopper ticket that includes admission into WWoS (I believe those are the park hopper and more tickets, but I'm not sure) will be enough to watch The Summit performances and that they are not charging an additional fee. I want to know if anyone has received different information from Varsity regarding The Summit. It doesn't matter, except for preparation purposes. Our team, with several military families, is travelling 3000 miles to The Summit. We just want to be sure about the costs once we get there. Their own website with information is unclear.

At worlds and UCA any hopper not purchased through Varsity (military, year round locals, etc) does not get you in to WWOS, so I'd assume it is the same for Summit. WHOA tiger might be able to help clarify

Yes. It's very confusing. What I meant is that there are 2 ways to get in:

Park hopper through varsity.
Ticket at the gate.

If they let you into HP or Jostens on a military pass I will be very surprised.

I used the park hopper and more ticket this year for UCA Nationals. I had no problems at all getting into the WWoS complex nor getting into the Field house or Jostens. I was asked to show my ticket at the door and there were no issues. Hope this helps.

It all depends if your park hopper includes more than just parks. Since WWOS is not a park, you need to make sure your tickets are not only for the parks.

Confusing, I know. Hope this helps.

So, entrance into WWoS is good enough? Assuming they have park hoppers that allow that, they are good to go? Thank you!

Now that we are here, we are hearing a diff story, btw. ;)

We attended the 2011 Worlds as spectators and I had no problem using my non-expiring park hopper's that I had purchased in 2002 to gain entrance to the whole shebang. We always purchase the non-expiring tickets with the most days and all the options. I still have water park entrance for several days left on the tickets we used in 2011 when we went to Worlds to support our gym's team and we purchased the tickets in 2002. The non-expiring option has really been worth the additional fee for us.
