Okay so right now I'm at the near end of this season with my High School Team, and I'm planning on joining an all star gym next season. (You pay to be placed after trying out for two months, so I would for sure be on an all star team, but I don't know what level yet). I'm really close with some of the girls on my team, and I previously said that I would be trying out for the high school team next year, and I don't know how to tell them all without them getting upset that I'm leaving them for all star. I honestly just know that it is my dream to do all star and I'm running out of time, as I'm about to be a junior in highschool and I'll graduate at age 17, so only two seasons until college. I'm one hundred and fifty percent in love with cheer, and it honestly changed my life so much, and like I said, I'm just worried that I'm running out of time. Anyways, if you had any suggestions for how to tell them without losing them as friends, that'd be highly appreciated!

say this:

I think I'm going to do that for those last two season.

the italicized is my addition. to put it plainly, you already know the best thing to say and how to say it. ;)

There are people who are going to be hurt, others who may be angry, and some who honestly don't care. And others who will be happy that you are happy regardless of where you are. Do what is right for you but do it in a way that is respectful and honest. I don't think that an explanation of why you are not coming back next season is needed now. Wait until it is closer to HS try outs. You never know, you might even change your mind, so there is no reason to announce anything until you know 100% what you are doing.
