To me, if you have boring music but an awesome routine, I won't really pay attention. Especially in a dance or stunting section. I like it when they have a up beat song for stunting, like when Georgia Louies had that cheer/ telephone mix for their stunting section. It kept me watching and gave an extra "umph" to the routine.

My friend argues that music isn't the most important thing to her, that the routine should be amazing regardless. What do you think?

i love cheer music!
i think it definitley adds to the routine:)
oh and i agree love the stunt music in ga

I barely hear the music if it's an amazing routine but I agree music is very important. One little part that fits perfectly with the choreography can make all the difference.

it gets me pumped up if the music i really good, especially if your the one on the floor. also if you happen to lose count int he routine, the music helps to recover with cues and such. music is very important i think.

I would argue that music will either make or break a routine. Period.

I've never seen a good routine with bad music....

I just want to say how much I HATE teams not stunting to slow songs
it just irritates me. a good acapella stunt kills me every time, however teams stunting to fast pop songs, or voice overs make me lose interest.

Its a combination of both! You can have a good routine but with bad music, its going to be boring. A alright routine can be made into a great one with the right music. Also, music sets the "theme".

Music makes the routine. You can still have a great routine without great music. But if you have awesome music that matches and goes well goes with the choreography that is perfection.

Even if you have a bland routine with fierce music it will make you stick out and more people with pay attention.

I think it's all about music ! If your dance is getting scored low it - don't change the dance , change the music !

I think great music can add to a already great routine but great music and cool voiceovers are not gonna save a bad rountine....
