All-Star The Majors By Jamfest Events

What teams compete is Jamfest England? Is it just teams from England? I'm missing what makes Jamfest England a big deal, I'm not down playing it, I truly don't know anything about Jamfest England . Is it just the great trip.

Right now its the only Jamfest competition in Europe (as far as I know). And I think for Jamfest this is a great opportunity to get more spectators to this competition. Since worlds is way too expensive for me (coming from Germany) I'm more than glad that 2 great teams will be in England. I already looked up prices to go there just to watch the 2 winning teams (and I truly don't care who will win because they will all be awesome to watch!).

Challenge 2: school. Kids can only miss X amount of school days. Current comp schedule maxes out days aloud.

Jamfest Europe is in June - I would say that most (if not all) kids are out of school for summer by then, so they shouldn't even miss one day of school.

I agree...USASF Worlds has become enough of a capitalist carnival as it is....I do like the exclusivity of The Majors, however...It at least gives off the impression that they're genuinely looking to honor the best of the best in the two divisions they're offering instead of collecting a profit from several hundreds of teams.

I agree. I like that its limited too! It reminds me of the first year or worlds, which I wish stayed exclusive.

not to get off topic about the majors but i also agree. when i've worn my national champion jackets out/to school i've been asked how it's possible to have more than 1 national title a year since it's assumed that there would be a few national competitions a season vs. the hundreds we actually have :confused:

It does not mean your a national champion.it means you won a competition that had a national invitation. Just a play on words...

I was referring to indy comp not euro. But now that i see Jam Euro is in June not sure how well that would work. Jersey schools dont get out till the end of june. I assume this would not be a 4 day weekend.

The website says that is June 9 and 10.. I know that personally that is the day after my high school's graduation so underclassmen will still have finals after that. I don't know about the school calendar's of regions in the US but in the Northeast, school is still in session. So that would definitely effect teams like World Cup.

Most of the schools in NC have graduation on June 10th, this will be a tough choice for these seniors to make, Trip to Europe or Graduation?.. Umh..

People saying that it'll be hard to get a full team to England, just think of all the international teams that pay to come to Worlds every year. Or the US Finals (I know a few teams who went last year). And they don't get free flights and free hotels. Plenty of parents go and actually, plenty of international cheerleaders who aren't even competing go along to watch and support their friends. It's perfectly possible to take a whole team across the Atlantic to compete - if the hotels and flights are free then that's the biggest expenses gone! It would be an amazing experience, not just for the teams travelling over but for all the teams over here that will never get the opportunity to see a big American team perform live.
