I know its everyone has different opinions but there is no way SE would place fourth with a clean routine with little to no mistakes. Unless all stunts , tumbling and pyramid mess up they will be in the top 3 or top 2. Shooting Stars and f5 both put on a show even though they lack some skills SE have. Pantahers have a strong opening but everything lacks after that. Peach is clean but nothing exciting.

With a raw score of over 98 on varsity, what do stars lack? (I havent seen f5s scores but assume they are up there also)

If everyone hits in dallas, their scores will be within 1.0 of each other.

Every teams gets into the top range for difficulty. Execution will play a major role here. As will creativity scores.

It seems silly to say this (as this is a LS thread and by default favorites override common sense):
But it doesn't matter what we LIKE, it matters what the score sheet asks for. If that means 4 different tick tocks because that's a high-hitting item and it's what a team is good at (vs 4 different full ups), then tick tock away, good sir.

I know everyone has their own opinion but if you have never judged an event really your opinion dont matter a whole lot! Esp. if you havent even seen the teams other than youtube.

I think of this like march madness basketball in the ACC, predict all you want, it will come down to who shows up on the mat that day, period.

I remember watching SE live probably three times in the early season last year and they were, well, a train wreck. They also won worlds in the same year.

In all your mathematical algorithms don't forget to factor in the break up of the base's boyfriend they haven't started dating yet that will then decide to start texting her flyer the day before competition.

That's your wildcard in the scoresheet.

I think a lot of the varsity scores have been WAY too high in my opinion. I'm even saying this for teams I like. I wouldn't go off most of the scores we have gotten.

TBH SE has the most complete routine. They hit all areas of the score-sheet with consistency. Tumbling will probably be their weakest area, but that is characteristic for them and even now it does not seem like a problem. They just need to clean up and work on those jumps. Having to do 4 is sacrificing the height for a lot of the girls.

Peach is right up there with them. Their stunting and pyramid may bring them down a little but not much at all. They are clean, have amazing tumbling, just need a little more energy, but that is irrelevant.

Panthers have a great showcase of their skills in their opening. You see everything clearly. They are lacking in stunts and pyramid. I also have a problem with the dance and having a lot of dead space with girls just standing there. I'm personally a fan of panthers moving back to small senior.

F5 looks really good as well. Stunts need to be upped a lot and so does that pyramid. Their tumbling isn't looking as good as it has been in the past, but the queens are climbing back to the top and are at a good place to be ready for worlds.

Stars' tumbling is INSANE. They so clean with it and have tons of difficulty. Best part of their routine honestly. Stunts need to be picked up, a lot. Out of the major contenders, they really need to be upped the most. We all know about that dance...


I really like this year. I have renewed interest in this division because of how close each team is to each other. It'll all come down to who can hit the most complete routine and that just excites me even more.

I honestly don't rhink anyone in the top 4 lack anything. Some teams may score a tenth or two higher than others in certain categories however there is no single team that out difficulties everyone.

Everyone is in the max range. None of these coaches are ignorant when it comes to scoresheets. Have any of these teams ever won their division against someone who hit when they themselves havent hit? I really don't think thats possible this year with varsity except for maybe a single touch down in tumbling.

Yeah but SE still puts on a good show maybe not as good as stars or f5 but they still intrigue the crowd with their skills.

I don't get why people think SE don't perform. Yeah, they don't have the WC "flash" or the F5 "diva ness" or Panthers sheer fierceness, but, has it stopped them beating these teams before.
And lets be real, the entire team could frown the entire time and Erica would do enough performing for entire team ;)

I know it (gf drama) was certainly a factor in one of our well known NC bb teams one year during the sweet sixteen (as in personally, not media reported) for more than one key player.
