Good morning cheer world ;)

I am wondering score wise what is happening with Tic Toks? In level 5 a lot of teams are power pressing to prep, gut stand etc. Are the judges awarding higher points to the teams who are doing true high to high tic toks or is it the same if you power press to a lower level?

My opinion the high to high is harder due to the fact it is a true release move. During a power press your backspot can grab and control the leg which makes it much easier on fliers.

Thanks for your help.

All depends on the tick tocks you are doing. Stretch to stretch high is a good bit harder than power press stretch to stretch when I did them. The power press gives you more time to complete the switch. (but I was also good at keeping the flyer level while power pressing). So 6 one way, half a dozen the other.

I personally could do high to highs all day. My stunt of choice is stretch to scorp, high to high. I think low to high and sponge to high require a lot more balance for the whole group. I know plenty of level 5 flyers that just can't seem to keep their hips up in a power press on the opposite leg.

Also, just because the back CAN grab the flyers leg in a low to high, doesn't mean they do.

I find as a backspot high to highs are MUCh easier, and i'd prefer them over most stunts.
But when i base i before a low to high because i feel i have more control and the time definitely helps. I have no idea which is easier for a flyer though i assume a high to high would be easier due to less movement.

I don't think there will be a scoring difference if both are executed well. I think the few tenths that would cause a difference is the body positions.

For what it's worth, last year my cp's junior team began high to highs after xmas break and competed (and hit) them 6 weeks later. Most groups on her team hit them on the first night they ever tried it. This year her team does DEEP low to highs. Her opinion is that a low to high is much more difficult, because of control while dipping, and the timing of the bases.

As a flyer's point of view- high to high is easier. When you do a low to high, it's so much harder to control your body. Plus you had to have the perfect switch timing when they pop. Either way though, they are both difficult to me! lol

my team does low to high and high to highs and since the low to high is from a somewhat "full up show and go" its super duper easy for us so I'd say high to high is a little less stable :)

I also believe high to highs are the easier of the two. Not saying high to highs are an easy skill though!
