What do you or your coaches do, as drills, to get timing issues right with your teams? Whether it be jumps, group tumbling, standing tumbling, or stunts. Do you have a certain technique? How long do you usually spend with your teams getting timing right?

The best thing i can think of is making the "ATHLETES" count there stunts, jumps and tumbling. Your never to young to starting counting and learn to hit your jump on 4!

That is what I've seen alot of teams do on the warm up mat, in practice, etc.... they're having the athletes count what they do, and everytime they tumble (bhs, roundoff, etc.) they have a certain count they need to have their hands on the floor, or a certain count they should be 'hitting' their jump on and I think that is very effictive! It makes the athletes realize they either need to speed up, slow down, or stay the same pace as what they were originally doing...and gets the team on time.

Taking it in little pieces. Having the kids say the number the skill hits on. Ex. if the toe touch hits on four, coaches would count 1-2-3 and everyone would yell 4.
