I am a cheer coach who recently moved to a new city and started coaching at a very new gym. It's a beautiful place but its quite far from other places, and to go to any other cities, we would have to fly. I am wondering as I start to plan the 2026-2027 cheer season, if you had to take a flight to every competition you attended, how many competitions would you be open to attending? Obviously it is depedant on specific families, but we are lucky to live in a pretty affluent area so I am fairly confident it would not be a huge dealbreaker for new families. So I am just looking to get a general consensus of what would be "too much"- especially considering it would probably require the athletes to miss at least one day of school since we would fly out Friday. Another question would be if you would be comfortable sending your kids to a competition with say half the parents and you don't attend (i.e. each competition we take some chaperones and coaches but some parents stay behind) since this would probably be the next best option to save money and time off work. Anyway, I am aware this is a question best for the specific parents, but I want to get an idea of what people think is reasonable before I make a rough plan. Thanks :)
