i think they will get taken down within a certain time period. If you post something in september a few months after worlds, they probably don't care.

Once the Broadcast is aired on ESPN they lighten up.. sometimes. Remember that ESPN / ABC / Disney have bought the Video rights to this event and own them.

From the USASF Web Site and I did not highlight the no videotaping line. That is how it is printed;

Thank you for your request to attend the 2011 Cheerleading and Dance Worlds. In order to issue a credential, the following terms must be agreed to:

  • There is no shooting allowed in the hotel rooms at any of the resort properties; or in public areas like pools.
  • No backstage photography at any venue (no photographers in the warm up areas, period)
  • No strobe lighting.
  • All photography is from “front of stage” vantage point; there are designated photographer areas at each venue.
  • Photographer is only authorized to photograph their specified team. No other team coverage is allowed.
  • Credential must be worn at all times while in venues.
  • NO VIDEOTAPING OF ANY KIND.
  • No photography from Worlds can be offered for sale.
  • This credential is not good for admission to the ESPN Wide World of Sports.
I understand the above rules and will work within these parameters.

These are just the rules for someone requesting photography credentials, no? I mean, no shooting in the hotel rooms or at the resort? That can't possibly apply to everyone, can it?

Everyone can laugh and think its no big deal as much as you want. But no matter how many people have done it and gotten away with it in the past, don't be surprised if you get your camera confiscated for the weekend.

Because it's stealing.

Actually even if you video EVERY single team at every venue they still can not confiscate your camera. Well I guess they could but then they would the people stealing.

I'm not saying that someone without permission is allowed to record and/or post video, I'm just saying it is 100% illegal for them to "confiscate" your camera and it would be considered theft if they did so.

I doubt they would confiscate your camera. However, they will probably ask you to leave.

this makes me really sad actually. how am i going to make my videos? wahhhh

That you would have to do because if they ask you to leave and you don't THEN you would be trespassing.

They don't keep it...you get it back when you leave.

Not everyone knows the rules, also. That doesn't justify, but some parents and siblings and friends might be a little.. unaware of the rules, and it's not fair to storm over and be like, "Oh I'll take your camcorder now!" I would love to see someone try to take my camera for the weekend.

And if you record it on your iPhone or Droid it's not like they can ~confiscate~ your cellular as well.

Not to veer this off topic but they can not take it from you even for a minute! They can tell you to delete or leave but they can't force you to delete or confiscate your camera for any length of time. If they tell you to delete or leave and you do neither then they can have you arrested for trespassing but still can not confiscate your camera. I'm against anyone stealing video for their own personal gain but I also want to get out factual info about your rights to video or take photos.

Idk why this is still even being discussed, it is not allowed and thats its. How many different ways can people say no? If you choose to break the rules and tape do so at your own risk. /End

You are correct. I had to sign off on them to get my credentials. The NO Video is published in several documents.
