I'am probably moving to San Antonio, TX next cheer season. My daughter is 6 and a level 2 athlete right now. I'am looking for gym's that would be good for my athlete. I know someone is thinking why didn't you look at the best/favorite gym threads and I did but all those big name gyms I'm seeing aren't that close. I'll be happy to drive an hour away for her. I tried to google gyms but I'm seeing a bunch in Texas but if I'm seeing San Antonio gyms there aren't any big names I know anything about. Then I see gyms with city's I've never heard of that may be good gyms but I'm not sure where they are in relationship to San antonio.

So any thoughts if you lived there what would be your choice?
All your input is greatly appreciated so thanks ahead of time!

After hours of Internet searching I found one that I think would be great- just by what I read and what I could find!
It's just an hour and a half away - it's Austin Cheer Factory!
Any other ideas closer then this? I mean I'll happily do it for my cp but wish it was closer.

Or any other thoughts y'all can share of this gym?

Note to gym owners-
For people who don't live somewhere and are looking to move to your area. Not having a website with any info or much info is quite annoying and it may help you find customers!
I found several gyms and I could not get any information so I'm having to exclude them!

Not from the area but I remember seeing a gym at a comp from the san antonio area, i believe it was pinnacle cheer. They seemed like a larger gym so they should probably have a website

Pinnacle!
They've got a gym in San Antonio and San Marcos so whichever one is closer for you!
pinnaclecheer.com has the info! I went and looked it up :)

They're a very talented program from what I have seen at competitions.
Good luck!

As far as pinnacle goes; I may be reading it wrong! But it looks like to me they have a whole bunch of Jr and Sr competitive cheer teams but no mini or youth?
Although I'm sure if that's the case my daughter wouldn't be in the few on a Jr team but she just turned 6. I would feel like even though my daughter may be a level 2 athlete her jumps aren't any where close to strong level 2 athlete who is 13..
So I would feel like my daughter would only be used for flying and pushed to the back for a lot of it! Not that my daughter has to be point anything but just saying. Like what's the point of having different divisions? Maybe if she was older then it wouldn't matter because they have so many different level Jr and Sr teams?

If I'm wrong or they are changing please let me know. This is what I got from reading stuff from this season that just closed.

Austin Cheer factory would be your best bet. It's a great gym & your cp can go to level2-level5, all in the same place. ACF was my top pick when we moved to Ft.Hood....Your cp will also get really clean & tight moves! Here is one of their level 2

That was really good. I feel like they have the most to offer.. And seems like more teams available so my daughter would be with people that are most like her.
When I go visit Texas I might take my cp to visit there and maybe a few others to see how she likes it!
Thank you!

Your welcome! I love ACF and my cp didn't even join..she decided to focus on school and broke my heart! :p On a serious note, they are an amazing gym with kids from all over central & south TX. The coaches, the kids, the parents are all wonderful and as a gym, they care about the all of the teams, from the mini's to the senior's, and it shows when those kids hit the mat! I hope you find the right gym for your cp! :)

Stars Cheer and Dance

I believe their Lg Youth Level 2 won NCA and UCA this past season.
Located North of SA in Schertz

ACF Mini Level 1 is just amazing!! It looks like they are having a Level 2 this season.
Keep in mind you will have to fight Austin traffic especially downtown if practices are before 6 pm and depends what time your CP gets out of school.

Pinnacle usually does have a Youth Level 2 They have locations in San Marcos, Helotes (Main Gym) and somewhere North San Antonio.

There's Premiere Cheer, Champion Cheer Allstars and Cheer-riffic Techniques all have Level 1 -2 Youth/Jr teams.

Stars is where we are and we LOVE it. My cp was on that Y2 team you mentioned, they freaking rocked! In the 2 yrs we've competed here, my cp has won 2 NCA jackets and 2 UCA jackets, plus 5 other smaller brand nationals. We just wrapped up tryouts and this year there is a co-ed sr 5, sr 4.2, jr 3, lg Jr 2 and Y1. Plus a show team and special needs team. I live on the NE side of San Antonio, and it's a 20 min drive for me. Austin isn't far from SA, but the traffic isn't worth the drive IMHO....it could easily take you 2+ hours there (back prob wouldn't be as bad).
Pinnacle is nearby and also worth checking out, however their head tumbling coach moved to Stars this April. Check out cheer riffic techniques (not my style, but may be yours), too. Those are the only three gyms in SA that I'd recommend.

When you visit SA, you'll see for yourself, but I would not suggest considering ACF. It will be a minimum of an hour and a half drive (assuming no traffic congestion - yeah, right) if you are in northeast SA. More if you're west SA or south. I grew up in San Antonio and miss it still after 20 years, hope you and your family like it and good luck in finding a gym.

Unfortunately here in San Antonio there aren't any "big name" anythings...lol. It's the biggest small town in the US, I'm afraid. Feel free to pm me about anything, even non cheer related, we've lived here for 6.5 years and my cp is entering her 5th cheer season.

I appreciate everyones help so far. Honestly, from what I have seen on the others Stars looks like the biggest contender beside ACF.
I love the location and what y'all have said. The city we will be staying in is called Converse, so that's more of the location I'd be coming from. Definitely not a bad drive to Stars.

As fas as ACF my iPhone maps says with traffic from the house to ACF its 1hr 27 mins. Now honestly I've never been to Texas once in my life so I have no idea how traffic truly is. When I do go of course I'm going to go visit both, and when I go to ACF I will literally drive it at that time so I can measure it.

I live in TN now and I love our gym we are starting are second season now and my cp has learned so much this quickly. So I'm just hoping to make it seamless and I want her to be ok with the change!

Thanks again!
