I have a friend who just moved to san antonio, and she had a heck of a time finding a gym there that she and her daughter liked - and was affordable. They loved Pinnacle, but I think she said it was reeeeeally pricey (of course, that means different things to different people, so don't rule it out). her daughter is only 7, so they must have some younger teams. I'll ask her where they ended up and get back to you.
but for the part I bolded...AMEN!!! I found this to be such an issue when I moved to Chicago! Gym owners - if I can't find you online (having a website isn't enough, it has to come up in a search engine WITHOUT me typing in your business name!!!) I'm not coming to your gym.
I typed cheer in the yellow pages within the area and pinnacle did come up. I did notice after the original post I made someone said they had a few different locations. Which could be why I found one that only listed things about multiple Jr\Sr teams. I thought they were ok. I found a little information about price and it wasn't really bad but maybe less then I pay now. Unless there were other cost outside of what was listed that they inform you about later. I checked reviews on the internet and not really much bad things. I did see a video somewhere on YouTube that wasn't impressive of an older team. Which may have just been a bad performance day. I really found like only 1 semi recent video I think. So I'm guessing they must have a rule about posting their performance on YouTube because with several location and quite a few teams I expected more videos.
Champions was another one to come up. I couldn't get alot of information off their website to even make me want to visit.
Cheers, and I think cheer express?? I couldn't link to a website from yellow-pages and I tried googling both. Cheers brought up alot of things like real cheers. Haha
Also cheer express only brought a linked Facebook fan page. I liked the page and was reading all sorts of cool info then realized it said Florida. So definitely couldn't find no info about one in San Antonio.
Also gym listed as "element" is also listed as "let's get loud"; I would say they are the bottom of my list so many negative things about them all over the Internet. Obviously more then 1 parent was not pleased. They said they changed their name to get away from the bad reputation! I'm not sure. I don't want to even bother with them.
Texas wolverines as poster listed above. According to yellow-pages didn't have a website; I was able to google it. Not really much info in their website- about costs, can't see pics, (unless logged in). The only thing I could see was their teams names from last season. I found absolutely nothing bad on them. The poster above likes it so I'll do more research before ruling it out.
The stars gym everyone brought up website is pretty good. Since one of the parents from there let me see a couple videos. Definitely have good technique/ choreography. Really well put together teams. I have to thank them, I would of never found their website because yellow pages doesn't even list them!! So I would have never known. Definitely one of my favorites.
ACF, would be my 1st favorite instead of my 2nd if it wasn't because of Austin traffic! Not sure how feasible that would be, especially if Stars is everything I think it will be then why bother with the traffic? When a great gym is closer!
I was just really irritated about the lack of information when they want customers. I would give my current gyms website an A+.. They have every competition cost and date, cost for every team each month and other fees, date it to be paid, spectator fees for all competitions, teams, whose on them, previous awards and placements at all competitions, calendar with every team and cost, rules, and registration, closed dates, and coaches! All without having to be logged in, also popping right up the top of google when you type in the city and cheer.
If u want to login you can pay online and manage your contact info. That is all!
Sorry I got excited!
So let me know where she ended up; I'd love to hear:)!
