I don't see it as really different from running/exercising in capris or tights. Those feel pretty similar to shorts while working out, at least to me. I would 100x choose capris over shorts if I had the choice.

I just could never picture running full out routines in capris, I'd be so hot!

I miss seeing a simple set of (appropriately long) shorts and a T-shirt or (full-coverage) sports-bra.
